We at c.2k are indeed a healthcare-focused communications company, and we're pretty passionate about what we do. Sometimes our jobs are for big hospitals who want to get the word out about new life-saving treatments or therapies they pioneer; sometimes it's for small non-profits trying to raise money to bring medical care to people who have never seen a doctor before.
And sometimes, like with this PSA, it's because we, like all the contestants, saw an opportunity to have fun, make people laugh and make a difference. There are a lot of great PSA's in the competition, and I think together we've all helped raise the level of the awareness about public health as we head into the next flu season.
My point was that you guys are known around the world and make commercials for clients like Mazda, Amgen, Microsoft etc. It's unfair for us college kids to compete against the "Lakers" . I'm glad you guys are raising awareness but you don't need the $2500 for your multimillion dollar company. How many people would have wasted their time and money making these PSAa if they knew a world renowned commercial production company was going to get into it. I wouldn't have bothered.
Yeah I know they're a division. I looked them up and found out that the guy who made this, John Ealer is actually the head Director/
Cinematographer for c-2k. I don't care if they want to submit but they shouldn't be allowed to win money. They don't need it. It's like having the Lakers enter a college basketball tournament.
Hey Zara...c2kmedical is a division of c2k entertainment and they do business all over the world with offices in Prague, Sydney, Hong Kong, Chicago, Vancouver and LA. You can look them up online. I totally feel your frustration but life is often unfair.
C'est absolument MAGNIFIQUE! humour, bon enfant, frais! et cela change des pub. catastrophique quand on parle de sujet grave ! Merci de ce moment de bon gout!
Why does a national commercial production company who makes $5,000,000/yr need to enter a contest? You boast of clients such as Amgen, Microsoft, Canon, Mazda, etc. Are you guys so bored that you had your fulltime staff sit around and brain storm for a $2500 contest. It probably cost you that much to make it. Your commercial is good but how can we even compete when this is what you guys do for a living. You even have medical division to specialize in health related commercials.
Excellent video and one that people will watch and it will command their attention as to the importance of washing your hands with soap and water or other hand sanitizer.
Really funny. Love the slow reach for the hand at the cafe and the weirded out looks from the people at the urinal and treadmill. Way to grab my attention! I WILL wash my hands, it's so much simpler! ;-)
Pretty precise message for a spot with such broad humor. Clever how it uses the big yellow suit to defuse paranoia about the flu yet still direct viewer to take commonsense steps. Bet that suit was hot, though... Was that shot in LA?
Thanks for submitting your video to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Flu PSA Contest. We have received your online form submission, so your entry is complete!

it seems pretty clear that you have the guy wearing a hazmat suit. i mean if we're all supposed to wear hazmat suits all the time, i'm sure we would get flu, but seriously.
You might as well get the hazmat suit. Maybe start by washing your hands and then, when someone makes a clever and effective PSA to use hand sanitizer, go out and buy that :)
This is great! Very funny and the message is very clear. I feel as though it may help to call out that hand washing is a way to avoid the flu - if the PSA is intended to relay a message about the flu specifically.
I would want of those suits C:
