I'm not going to say that global warming/climate change isn't real because living in Alaska for 2 summers I know for sure that it is real but what'd Ilike to hear is the explanation that environmentalist have for the fact that the ice caps that once reached all they way down to staten Island and manhattan new york some 10-14,000 years ago have been receding thousands of years before man discovered coal and oil.

Why have the ice caps receded 1000's of miles before the industrial revolution.

@jjason55740 You asked a very good question! I think that the trajectory of global warming is going up much faster than normal . Charts show something is out of whack and things like that. Look at coral reefs turning white and dying. It is much more than just receding ice caps. We are pointing at everything gone astray. What you are suggesting is that we probably should study more on what is shrinking the ice caps long before we start fooling around with matches....This might provide answers.

America is still not moving on fast enough to dominate electricity generation with green means by a long shot. All we are doing is yapping yapping yapping and not doing much with our wallets.. It means investments... Government or utility is not gonna do it all for you. You have to set aside some dollars for that purpose.. Ever heard of FutureGen? It is a clean coal project undertaken by interested utilites and governments. The first clean coal plant will be built in Illionois. There is still several big utilites heavily dependent on coal that are still unwilling to pariticipate. Find out about your local utility. Dont waste your time partying with those ignorant green readers here. Talk with your local utility about green projects as well as clean coal . Coal plants will not disappear overnight. Get real!
