  • 邊個作的? 好正

  • 五年前,這首歌我才愛上...就這樣五年了

    她也已多了個孩子

  • there's no one like her..

    diva forever~

  • can someone tell me if this is a cantonese version?

  • It's indeed.

    Lyrics:

    red for cantonhau

    blue for putonghua

  • yes.

also the lyrics in red is cantonese and blue is in mandarin

  • Yes, This version is in Cantonese

  • @Dorianblack07 this is the cantonese version

the mandarin version is called "bai nian gu ji"

  • cute acting, great vocal!

  • Still sounds good after 10 years.

And the MV character that Faye plays in this video is very much like Bridgitte Lin's 'Woman in the Blonde Wig' from Chungking Express.

  • I said the same in another comment. I agree totally. I'm sure it's based, at least partially, on that character

  • Wow ! I just got the Buddhism behind the meaning. It is awesome ! Lin Gi (The lyric writer)is tops ! This song is almost like a mantra ! No wonder Faye was a buddhist believer as well !

  • Thank you! I've instantly fallen in love with this song. I just wanted to ask if you have the mp3 for this song?

  • This piece is fierce

  • *sigh*

this brings back memories of my childhood listening to her music...first non Disney music I listened to.

  • Beautiful Buddhist-inspired lyrics!! I don't think we have anything comparable in western music

  • Can you translate the lyrics into English? I'd be very thankful.

  • in what way is it buddhist-inspired? coz i dont get it

  • I think the lyricist is trying to use buddist concepts to help alleviate the pain from the demise of a relationship. The song was written for Faye during her divorce with her ex husband.

  • The first few lines are intended to illustrate the transient and cyclical nature of things in that everything's in a state of flux - things don't just dissapear, they change into different forms instead..e.g. "water evaporates to form clouds, the resulting rain might be coming from your sweat", "Hand comes in contact with your face, someone's kiss (given to you)ends up on my palm", "we are like dust and wind, even if they're not together anymore, they continue to exist on earth".

  • The mandarin version has the same message, but delivered through a different angle. Its more about visualizing that we (I believe as lovers) didn't exist a hundred years ago ("A hundred years ago, you were'nt yourself and I wasn't me), so what's the point of suffering for this separation.

It all sounds a bit silly when translated into English, cuz (imo) English is less sentimental and u can't use poetic license as extensively.

  • The chorus talks about things being 'empty' in the beginning and 'empty' in the end .." Coming in empty-handed and waving goodbye, moutains and seas have been crossed in the interim, there's no need to leave together"... "Coming in with a deep impression and leaving comfortably, doesn't mean that there is nothing material"...

  • Yes

I'm referring to the style of language used and the ideas expressed in the Chinese language, not the existence of a genre

  • durr di durr then learn to express your thoughts clearly in words

  • 廣東話的歌詞比較美

  • 空空兩手來 揮手歸去 閱過山與水 水裡有誰 未必需要一起進退

  • fantastic song

  • still love her

  • luv faye^^ yea, me reminds it ot B.L. too....

  • i love this song.....cool

  • Reminds me of Bridgitte Lin's character in Chung King Express. With the wig, sunglasses and running away.

  • me2!!!!

  • tat's not bridgitte lin's.. that is Faye Wong in Chung King express =.=

  • I know Faye is in ChungKing Express. What I meant was that in the video, Faye is wearing the wig and Sunglasses just like Bridgette Lin.

  • i LOVE this song!!! Ive been looking for this MV since buying the CD

  • Cool video, nice song. I like how Faye Wong acts in this
