Voting for Bob Barr is like voting for the lesser of three evils instead of two. The man is not a libertarian. Like Ron Paul, he is a paleoconservative riding on the coattails of the libertarian movement. The national Libertarian Party USA has sold out its principles by nominating Barr as its presidential candidate just to garner more national recognition and votes.
Bob Barr is Pro-Life but abortion is not mentioned on his website and I'm guessing is not part of the Libertarian platform. What matters is what he's running on NOW.
I love this video, but I really do support Bob Barr as well. I changed my mind in the last 9 months about so many issues and he has fought hard to right his wrongs for 5-6 years. He is the best vehicle of liberty available, but man this is a catchy song. Great vid, and it makes a fair point.
Over the last five years he has been fighting to repeal the Patriot Act after he saw how it was abused. Over the last 3 years he has been fighting for the right of medicinal marijuana. Bob Barr wanted the DOMA to not limie state's rights, not to support one man/one woman. Bob Barr has come along way. Great video but please look over the guy again! He really is a good guy and he is now on the right side! He is not changing the libertarian platform, the libertarian platform is changing him!
The video is well made although I disagree with the idea that someone who is wrong about something and then later works hard to reverse a few wrong positions is a bad choice. I have changed ideologically so much in the last year and Barr has fought for the last 5 years to bring back the liberty that modern Republicans have sought to take away. No qualms, I am voting for the man that stands for limiting government intrusion into the lives of individuals and to businesses. Barr for President
I made this video and acted in it. And neither of us are libertarians. This song and video was made to show the insanity of Bob Barr representing this party in this election.
and yeah, those who are libertarians don't seem to be doing a great job getting it legalized now do they? Not to say they shouldn't fight for it.

One of the best things about Ron Paul is that he leads by example and asks his supports to figure it out. Paul says he will ENDORSE MCCAIN if McCain changes his opinion on foreign policy, immigration, and just about everything else too. Paul knows this is unlikely; yet lets it be known that he would support McCain in this unlikely scenario. What is Ron Paul trying to tell us?
Barr is campaigning on a message consistent with Paul and will be on the ballot in at least 48 states.
It's very rare to find someone who's willing to change their position and then be so public about it. [Barr has] definitely increased the credibility of the Marijuana Policy Project. People have to take us seriously when we walk through the door with Bob Barr. -Rob Kampia, Executive Director, Marijuana Policy Project, May 2008
Stay with the one and only true Libertairian Dr Ron Paul. Dr Paul is an amazing man for what he stads on, Somthing most people forgot and its Principals and integraty. It blows me away how DUMB DOWNED American people are to the danger this country faces. And that danger is the goverment it self, More goverment means more lie's and market manipulation
Bob Barr: keynote speaker to CCC (says he couldn't figure out they were racist, even though David Duke was a fellow speaker, and racism is CCCs primary issue)
Author of DOMA (says he didn't realize it violated rights of gays to discriminate against them)
Determined by Cato to be consistently pro-tariff & anti free trade.
Attempted to outlaw non-judeo-christian religious practices by U.S. military personnel.
Steve Kubby disagrees with you. Here are some quotes taken from an open letter he wrote. You can read the whole thing on the LP of Tennessee's homepage.
"I can tell you that Barr and Root are sincere and effective spokesmen for reigning in the government, restoring our constitutional rights, allowing states to determine their own laws regarding drugs and for
the full legalization of medical marijuana."
"I now believe Barr and Root are the strongest pro-freedom ticket we've ever had"
This is no argument. I suspect Steve Kubby is just trying to keep the LP from falling apart, as libertarians abandon it in disgust over the religious right conservative Barr.
This is all true. On the other hand, the National Review clearly finds him to be a threat to their particular brand of conservatism. Last week they even went so far as to criticize him for once having accidentally discharged a firearm, this being listed among two or three items they felt worthy of noting about him. Strangely enough, they're still fond enough of Dick Cheney...
Yep. Ron Paul spent his time in congress proving that he's a libertarian. Bob Barr spent his career in congress being a typical neo con. Sorry if we're not entirely convinced of his recent switch to libertarianism.
bob barr volunteers for the ACLU and is a lobbyist for the marijuana policy project and currently lobbies against his own medical marijuana amendment.
In Ron Paul's book he denounces Bob Barr for being one of the conservatives who stood back and did not stand against blatant abuse of power by the executive branch (such as the right to initiate military action, which the constitution forbids any president to do)
I don't know what conspiracy you are referring to.

I cannot believe Kubby didn't win. The LP has become an off brand of the GOP. Enough rambling, great vid!! Keep doing more.

To the major point---Bob Barr is a Republican. He's not necessarily scum and he's not necessarily a hero.
He just, necessarily, is NOT LIBERTARIAN.
And his running mate is even worse.
