I dont think the landing was bad at all!!! Yes the flare could have been better but if everyone was able to fly perfectly everytime then we would never need a CFI! I landed a Cessna 150 first before i landed any other aircraft. It was much worse than this! lol my point leave the guy alone. The plane wasnt damaged and no one was injured. In my book Its a good landing
nice landing. Were you initially undershooting or was that the correct trajectory. The only reason I ask is because I am learning to land as we speak and I get a lot of critiscm on my landing trajectory, apparently I constantly over shoot and end up with a hard landing.
looking for a video that can give me a good reference for practice
"152 nevver stalls" aint that the truth! I remember back int h 80's having the yoke almost touching my chest in a clean stall and the stall hirn blearing, until finally the damn things nose came down. I also flew a Tomohawk and that damn thing can be stalled with just you sneezing!
nice one, i got a question: in small planes like this, is it necessary to try to line up center line at touchdown? at 0:55, he corrected, but is it necessary
Um ultimately it is 55k, but i think i was gonig alittle slower around 50 or leaning into the high 40's this cessna 152 nevver stalls, it stalls at like 25knots, which is incredible
You might want to check have the airspeed indicator checked out then, Vs0 in a 152 is 43 KIAS. If there is any deviation from this then something is wrong with the aircraft or your instruments...
I fly the approach in a 152 at around 60kts, maybe 65 on a gusty day. I think it looked slow due to a) the runway being reasonably wide and b) possible decent headwind resulting in a slower ground speed. In any case, was a nice textbook landing. Thanks for posting!
@broncosdude93 I just landed a Cessna 150 or 152 I'm not 100% sure... but yea this looks really slow. I landed around 60KTS... and the stall speed w/ full fflaps is about 42Kts for the ones i fly. Well thats what my instructor told me in a briefing so...
@broncosdude93 in a 150 it's 65 mph. Vx is 64, Vy 73. On my plane we ahve the bush STOL kit on it, and the climb out published for a 150 by the the STOL kit, says 32mph is climb out. We tried it and it worked great. :)
It's a Cessna 152, what do you expect? They have slower approach speeds than other planes. If you go too fast you'll make it harder to land properly, go any slower and he'll stall out before getting to the runway. His landing was a good landing. He didn't harm himself or the aircraft. No need to be a freaking jerk about it.
nicely stabilized approach and landing man, I've only flown 152's a couple of times (stall training in an aerobat) but they can be lots of fun on a windy day (if obscenely slow).
I gotta wonder if anyone ever posts their bad landings here. I posted a go-around once in severe turb and crosswind and it got linked to all those airliner near misses. Needless to say it came down and I only upload the "passenger friendly" approaches now :-)
Actually that was not a mid-field landing. It is really at the designated touchdown zone. And we had to taxy a quater of a way down the runway to exit get off on the next taxiway. But thanks anyways for not knowing what your talknig about.
Any landing is a good landing as long as you walk away. People are always saying that certain landings are better or worse, but they are all good if you can fly again tomorrow!
65kts is the recommended glide speed and also the landing speed in the 152. Very nice landing @ the author of the video.
Just to correct you though, the C152 stalls at 48kts with power = idle and flaps = up, 43 knots with full flap/idle power, it's definitely not as low as 25kts.
Wow, that's impressive. Especially in a 152 with 2 POB. Landing one of those things feels like trying to solve a rubicks cube while balancing on a basketball. Nice one!
I love people that leave bad comments when its obvious they have no experience in the matter. If you had a bad experience, its probably do to the fact you suck at challenging yourself. I fly with Horizon, gained my PPl with them and love the fact that when I go rent a plane, I know it is maintained. SUCK IT
Alright... the planes are maintained thats for sure, its the instructors that are dropping out like flies, and dont give a **** about my hours and only their hours. Dont leave a comment if you dont have anything good to say. CHANGE TAMPON
How many hours do you have? I was flying once every two weeks or so, and toward the end, a couple of times a week and it took me 63 hours and 1 year 3 months to get my ppl, who is your instructor?
Once again thanks everyone for the comments... I appreciate it. I never thought i would get any espcially with the low quality of the video... Thanks for being supportive.
Thank you all for the comments, i appreciate it. The film was recorded when i was at the age of 14. I am currently 15. You can start lessons at any age, so long as your mature and you dont goof off. The aircraft the video was filmed in was N49185 (C152) owned by Horizon Aviation Inc.
hey man that was a very good landing, dont listen to all these other people telling u stuff about crosswinds and shit that was very nice.well done.and a 15 year old commercial captain, captains are not com pilots they are airline transport pilots.
Yes, i do take lessons at Horizon. I've been flying since i was 12 and i am currently 15. if you have any other questino feel free to shoot me an IM at CessnaCoPilot
read my comment towards him you must be at least 35 to be a captain and at least 18 to be an airline pilot which means he would have started collage at about 1 year old.hes full of bs
Good stuff mate. I started flying 150s and 152s when I was 14 as well, and now I fly charter and instruct. So keep up the good work, it looks like you're a natural, and good luck with your flight test!
i had my first circuit lesson a few days back, wore me out... was in a c-152 too, screwed up a few landings before i got a couple of good ones in :S nothing like that tho... v nice!
Thanks for all the good comments.I am 14 years old and I take lessons at Horizon Aviation Inc. on the North West ramp area at PVD. The 152's callsign is N49185.

That is correct. You can take flying lessons whenever you want, but in my opinion there is not really a point until you are 15 or so, unless you have the money. At 16 you can solo and at 17 you can get your PPL.
Nice job!!, I did a grease landing on my flight test, My examiner was an airline training captain, he didn't know we were on the ground. I was in a C172 though
I did the other way around, I don't know why I kept landing on the numbers and my instructor was always asking me why do you do that?
Smart Alec answer... I have longer runways in front of me if something goes wrong.
