  • they actually changed the lyrics to begin with just because of the country. in america it is seem more 'normal' to fantasise about ireland because its so far away and mysterious but in england ireland is just ireland and its more of a threat than a fantasy place so it makes more sense for the story to have been fed to her by her grandfather.

  • i absolutely love jill halfpenny. i want to see legally blonde and meet jill. she is a great actress, singer and dancer. the best actress ever. she has a great voice. good, loud and powerful. she sings this songs so well. i love her accent. she makes the song sound so good and funny. she is the best singer from the ireland reprise competition. some people said that she didnt hit the last note. i think she did and she did it excellently. i love jill halfpenny. xx

  • i love jill halfpenny. she is an amazing actress, singer and dancer. she has an amazing voice. really good and powerful. xx

  • Jill Halfpenny OWNED this role. OWNED it.

I didn't know what to expect, and I was left with my jaw on the floor and begging for more! (sorry, I didn't mean that to rhyme. Honestly)

  • @xxclareyfairyxx she was by far th best singer and was sooo good

  • why is the whole of the london version lower than the broadway version

and i like these lyrics :)

  • Dx i can't believe she didn't yell "celtic moods!"

  • i really like jill's voice.

  • why did they change the lyrics?

  • This was just...weird. Jill did a great job, and the lyrics...they might be good. I need to see if they will eventually grow on me. I hesitate to say that the original lyrics are better, because honestly I think that's just a matter of taste. The original is just what I'm used to.

  • YAY!!! been looking for this!!!

  • nice lyrics!!

  • Oooh new lyrics

  • i really liked her as paulette i didnt think she was gunna be that good as her but she really was

  • I like the new lyrics and I think that Jill did a great job :) It's not like Orfeh's version, but it's not meant to be.

  • i love the lyrics

  • There's definitely a trailer scene :) I saw it on Saturday. In this version of Ireland she still meets a guy named Dewey who told her that he was from Ireland therefore he still leaves her and takes her dog and lives in a trailer. Hey presto! Trailer scene :)

  • The new lyrics do make more sense. Jill is obviously not a touch on Orfeh - but still good.

  • I shall tell you all if theres a trailer scene also

i'm going on "Official Opening Night" on Boxing Day :D

  • The old lyrics flow so much better than the new ones. Maybe Halfpenny is just getting used to the rhythm.

I'm sure I'll get used to them one day...

  • I don't really like this new lyrics. It's like, they don't really fit together.

  • Yea and what do they do when they get back her dog? If she never had an Irish boyfriend, there is no trailer!

  • Lulz and 5 stars for the last name "Halfpenny" sounds like the names they use in math books.

  • LOOOOOVEDD THIS SONG, Until they changed the lyrics!! :/ But Jill is FANTASTIC!! ;)

  • I like these new lyrics!! But i'll see how they work on stage in the moment on the 16th :)

  • can't decide whether i like the new lyrics. Will reserve judgement till next friday!!

  • ohhh.

    she was outstanding <3

  • Apparently from what Iv read some of the old lyrics could be seen as "offensive"

  • They should change them back. I thought they were funny, and i'm irish.

  • @TimeToDefyGravityXXX i think both lyrics could be just as offensive.. even though i never found any of them offensive.. i read through them and this one actually stereotypes more than the old one...

  • There was nothing wrong with the old lyrics so why change them!? I dont like these...

  • @Beads19 some people may find them offensive because they are irish and will see the uk version so they changed them, some of the whole musical changed because we have a different sense of humour to the americans

  • Okay I am from Ireland... and I so don't understand these lyrics. The old ones were great.
