Troy Tate is a musician and record producer. Tate was the guitarist of the band "Teardrop Explodes". He was chosen as producer of the debut album of The Smiths. The original version of the album is widely known as "The Troy Tate Sessions" and has only been released on bootlegs. After the album was recorded, the band decided to reject these recordings and re-record the album with producer John Porter.
The mp3 version, you can find in the pages of search of "Google." There are links to download. Search for "The Smiths Troy Tate Sessions". The problem is that the files are not in good quality. I use the "Sonic Foundry Sound Forge" to edit them, but not everyone can fix.
@mrpentium it's also available as a bootleg "May we have a record contract please?" next to "The Butterfly Collector" its one of my favorites of theirs

Wow....awsome. So, is this the Tate recording or Porter. Your title says Tate. Either way, thanks for sharing it.

This version is closer to the version of John Porter (album). I like this version more than other Troy Tate version, more raw.
