XD if people really want to learn cantonese, send me a inbox messenger about what they want to know and I will make a viedo. coz i only have 20 ppl saw my viedo last time, it seems like no one like learning writting chinese -.- so I decide to make a viedo soon so ppl can learn so cantonese...
my gosh, mandarin is so MUCH EASIER. some characters in cantonese mean the same in mandarin so i think i'll stick to mandarin and just rely on the characters when i'm in hong kong lol
If "-eu" is meant to be pronounced as in "chartreuse," and has a slight "r" sound, then "Jeung" would be parsed as "ju(r)ng."

Has anyone ever mispronounced the Cantonese word for "five" as "Eng"?
ClassicTVMan1981X 4 months ago
@ClassicTVMan1981X I just say it like "mm" because that's how my friend who knows Cantonese told me to say it, lol.

Sorry think I hit dislike unintentionally. I'm not sure how to undo it. It's a very useful tutorial. Keep up the great work!

what romanization standard are you using? I heard in this video J is pronounced as "DZ". This is not Jyutping,... is it?

Like bruce lee said: "the hard thing on chinese is the entonation of the words, cause a different tone can mean different things".

That's why I'm so glad I grew up with Cantonese. I've got the tones down pat, just have to relearn the grammar and vocab.

dialogues would be goood. thanks!
chriskaien 3 years ago
Ok! but there is a problem: I can't write/type Cantonese script on computer, so you'll just have to make-do with the romanisation, is it ok?
seoulhangungmal 3 years ago
that would be great. thank you so much for your time!
chriskaien 3 years ago
You're welcome. But it's going to take a while (due to monopolisation of my computer)...so pls be patient
