@cornbreadthedog It's just that Richard Crenna, who played Walter in the radio series, was such an audience favorite and had such a distinctive voice, they didn't dare replace him in the TV series. Easier to mask your age on radio of course.
@delicedelmar ...i know..i loved richad crenna in the old time radio show: A DATE WITH JUDY. he played oogie kringle, judy's boyfriend...his voice was unmistakeably and infectiously funny in both shows....
Such a charming warm human comedy. Not hip like the office but still funny. The characters were perfectly harmonized. Al Lewis was the writer and director who later became Grandpa on the Munsters and political commentator on WBAI in NYC.
This is so charming! Not hip like The Office but warm and nostalgic. Al Lewis directed and wrote it who later was a character, Grandpa, in the Munsters. He was also a political commentator on WBAI in NYC before he died a year or so ago.
