@StayAwayFromAnOD OD's provide a much needed clinical service and can make a great living. Tthe demand for vision care will only increase as the baby boomer generation ages. While future healthcare delivery models will make it tougher for some vision care providers, I believe much of this will be offset by the increased demand. I do agree that it can be tough to practice in a commerical setting, but I've also met a number of OD's who have done well in that setting.
