they don't, the only reason it has the slot is for traveling internationally. Although they are changing the technology to 3g for the Olympics in 2010.

You get a TELUS SIM card in the box with the 8830 and 9530.

The comment wasn't regarding whether or not they have GSM coverage, it was that they don't have SIM cards which they clearly do.

As of today (June 28, 2009)... Telus does not have SIM cards for their phones. Their phones are primarily CDMA. The Storm and the 8830 came with special Telus SIM cards so that you could use the device if you travel internationally.

I don't think you can put other SIM cards in there and make the phone work on other networks. You would have to make the Storm unlocked or buy it unlocked.

Telus and Bell are creating a GSM network to be prepared for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.

The Bell plan is simply not worth it.

I really don't know how or why YOU are so excited about this phone. During the review, the O.S was buggy and unresponsive. The accelerometer was all over the place. its nice to have a Canadian review Youtube channel for cellphones, but atleast try to be fucking OBJECTIVE when you review.
