There is no de facto separation between Israeli-Arabs and Jews, the situation in no way resembles South Africa's apartheid system. Those so called Palestinians that want a country that called Palestine with no Jewish people allowed, that would become a true apartheid state. HEY Jimmy" Carter shove that fact up your, let’s say..........were the sun don't shine
Carter was the worst president we ever had. EVER. He harmed this country far more than he helped it. Obama is a close second however, they may even be tied.
midgetman433, jimmy gave us the Dept of Energy to free us from foreign oil dependence. That entity now costs $26.4B a year, yet has moved us not one iota closer to independence. jimmy gave us 444 days hostage situation at Iranian Embassy (hostages released Reagan Inauguration Day - coincidence?). Jimmy boycotted Olympics, punishing athletes & ag products, punishing farmers, to USSR as result of Afghanistan, yet allowed other commerce to run unabated. Last decent democratic president? C'mon.
@monoryo11 great points, all. 1) thank you for putting all the effort into your obviously well thought out response. 2) you should be nominated for a nobel peace prize based on your sublime diplomacy & tact 3) you are a rocket scientist & 4) you are good looking what took you so long to answer with that witty repartee, genius, solving world hunger?
@caisediab I haven't killed anyone. American citizens along with all other countries citizens have a lot more in common then you may think. We live day by day letting our governments playout this big soap opera. Thing is, our governments are out of touch with ordinary citizens and feel like they need to be our mommy and daddy. So please don't blame things on people who have no say in what decisions our government makes.
Of course Carter feels that way. He's the past President that keeps breaking the unwritten code that you don't talk about other Presidents once you're out of office.
Dumb? Carter broke the back of OPEC and rescued the US from almost-certain $5 a gallon gasoline with his energy and insulation policies of the late '70s. By 1983 oil prices had collapsed from surpluses that were a direct result of higher gas mileage standards and insulation standards in the US. begun under Carter.
Carter inherited inflation from Ford and Nixon's prosecution of the Vietnam War. His appointment of Paul Volcker to head he Fed whipped inflation by 1981. Volcker did what was right and tamed inflation by raising rates, unlike the Clinton and Bush appointed feds.
Again, Reagan took credit for what Carter did. And now right wing morons blame Obama for an economy wrecked by offshoring of jobs permitted by Reagan and the Bush family. No wonder America is so messed up.
It was Carter who got the hostages freed from Iran because he was diplomatic with the PLO. He used his contacts with Arafat to get the hostages freed with Khomeini.
That happened just before the election. Reagan the SOB and his people used Bush's contacts with the CIA in Langley (the hostages themselves were CIA)to delay the release until after the election.
If Carter was re-elected, we probably would have free health care, better jobs and peace in the Middle East.
@caisediab If Carter had been elected the US would have been in a continuing recession, a Soviet Union the dominant power in the world, millions of unemployed and war in the Middle East!
Is that the world you want? Thank god for Mr. Regan!!!
@mikefastener Firstl, the US wasnt in a recession in 1980. It was suffering from high inflation, nheritedt from Nixon/Ford and the Vietnam war. Carter's appointment of Paul Volker to the fed tamed that by 1982.
The Soviets were suing for peace by the 70s--CIA assessment of them in 1978 showed that they were as powerful as kittens. Do you believe in Santa Claus too?
Um, we have war in the middle east now, thanks to Reagan and the Bush family, and their support of Al Qaeda.
@caisediab So the Soviets were as powerful as kittens according to the CIA--same agency regarding WMD in Iraq? I guess all those Soviet missles were turned off! (Santa would like to see you now!) lolol
I would say the American people made their judgement on Carter at the voting booth!
@mikefastener The CIA actually was saying there were NO WMDs in Iraq.
The white house office of special planning, i.e., the neocons, were the ones who lied about the WMD. These are the same guys who, through the Committee on the President Danger II, said that the Soviets were going to take over the world. The reality is, at the time, that the Soviets were already in decline.
Don't get me wrong, I can't stand Carter anymore than Reagan. Both represent the wealthy and don't about us.
@mikefastener I would choose Salvador Allende. Reagan, Carter, and every American president has blood on their hands.Lots of blood. I don't support killers.
Carter for instance increased aid to the dictator Suharto of Indonesia after Suharto's death squads killed 200,000 people.
I live in Jordan now and thanks to Obama, Bush, and predecessors, we have in power here a ruthless dictator who prohibits any assembly or free speech. American aid and military presence maintains his power.
Ok guys if you guys think Carter is the worst president we have had? then look at bush, Jimmy carter has built over 8,000 homes for the homeless and has helped environmental institutions, and he won the Nobel peace prize, Has Bush done any of that? NO! bush lied to our country about the war, He has caused 150,000 deaths!
@freakylocz14 OK we obviously dont even need to re-do 2008 obama had 365 electoral votes and McCain had somewhere around 180, and obama got 10 more million popular votes than McCain.
Dear Lord! Who thinks that Al Gore would have been any better than Bush? That's a freaking joke. Al Gore is so mentally unstable.... just ask his ex-wife.
I supported Clinton in 1996 but Carter, Bush and Nixon are going to go down as the WORST Presidents in History in that order. The sad thing about Bush is he had great people in his cabinet he didn't listen to them. Nixon on the other hand had horrible people and he listened to them.
blows my mind. the young turks who despise all about america benefit from free speech that our soldiers fought for yet they have no problem tearing it down. I watch for to see what they say And I would fight to the death for them to be able to say it. But for them at every opportunity to tear down any opposition is appaling. never has a conservative demanded they be pulled off the air for disagreeing with them only progressives will silence the first amendment!
Ronald Reagan made Jimmy Carter look like a moron in any debate, just watch them. Jimmy Carter was then and still today the dumbest president we have ever had...
One young socialist stooge asking an old socialist stooge what the old, failed socialst stooge thinks about anything is pretty funny.
BTW kiddies, when your socialist (aka Barry Hussain) is swept out of office in 2012, will you change the name of your channel to ' The middle age Socialist Stooges'?
@nutcase1969 Obama aint the best; but his shortcomings come more from staunch right wing opposition the likes of which never seen before. Party that equates compromise to defeat; party whose "number one goal is to make Obama a 1 term president"; a party that filibusters anything that has Obama's signature w/o a thought to its content. They use a facade of patriotism when they in fact would rather see America fail than Obama succeed. And you bought into it..wake up.
Carter did great things that came to fruition after he left office, Reagan took credit for them, then screwed up the country, made a few smart ass remarks and is considered a great president. Reagan crashed the stock market, destroyed our tax system, reversed our progress to energy independence, lied to the American people about the Iran-Conta affair(while letting them smuggle coke while Reagan led a "War on drugs"), and and gave money to bin Laden(which was later used for9/11). 2 minutes ago
What are these Great things you Speak of ? Don't have any do you. President Carters lack of leadership helped stall the Economy. In fact he stifled it, I remember the Gas Rationing and general malaise everyone was feeling. Like him or hate him, President Reagan was the Right man at the right time to get the economy, and PRIDE back.
Bush fucked up more than just our country he fucked up a phew others in the process.
and also you people arguing what party has done more to fuck up are complete idiots, you both screwed up. and that wasnt even on topic with the fucking video.
Yes Bush did screwed this Country and we get Obama that has screwed this country more. Johnson Screwed this Country less then Bush and we got Nixon that created the problems we have today.
I respect Jimmy Carter. Although he has politicized Habitat for Humanity he has helped a lot of people to get homes. Doing that through voluntary measures works better than having government do it.
Having said that, Jimmy Carter was a disgrace as President. I say that as someone the lived through his presidency. Both his foreign and domestic policies were poorly conceived and poorly executed.
@Whiteberry77 jimmy carter was the last decent democratic persident we had and accomplished so much during his 4 years in office!! you are the only dumbass here...
@midgetman433 um yea similar to obama higher food gas and taxes .... if we take money out of the citizens pockets we can provied everything for them take away there freedoms one by one...ok or government can do less than we want and we can do for ourselfs.... sorry but jimmy carter then obama then andrew jackson then bush imo of worst presidents but whatever president gets elected next will look like a genius compared to Obama
@nubnukka umm.. the food and gas prices that you speak of are a result of inflation, much of which is the fault of the Federal reserve's manipulation of currency, you cant blame carter for high food prices, also the oil prices were the result of the Iranian revolution which you cant really blame carter for..
@midgetman433 when government raises taxes on the stuff we need and use then it drives our prices up.... so i guess ill blame him and the senate and i blame bush and the dem controled senate and ill blame obama and the republicans they need to take there hands out of the market and quit micromanaging everything its like iceages they come and go so dose the market government should stay out of it
@nubnukka the majority of taxes on commodities and other products such as food and clothing are taxed at the state level... the price hikes during Carter's presidency was due to inflation and fact that the shit really hit the fan during those 4 years.. he inherited a recession, about 2 years in the Iranians decided to overthrow the shah, and cut off oil supply to the US, decided to take some Americans hostage. also you are not accounting for the policies of nixon and ford who preceded him..
@midgetman433 a republican will fuck up the dems will over react and elect a far left democrat who will make it worse then a republican will come in and fix it ... its happened before it will happen again.....
@midgetman433 Not quite true. Carter inherited a growing economy (6.91% in Q4 of 1975) and the Iranian problem was in large part HIS OWN FAULT. As far as that being responsible for the skyrocketing oil prices, welllllllll --- not quite. Oil prices were skyrocketing LONG before this. It was a contributing factor, but the fact still remains: His policies are responsible for his results.
@ToddAldrich wtf are you smoking?? look up the recession under gerald ford... carter ran his whole presidential campaign on that... and how is the overthrow of the shah carter's fault?? he wasnt the one who put him there... it was a republican president.. as for you saying the revolution was only a contributing factor... thats like saying HIV is only a contributing factor for AIDS.. when our second largest oil supplier disappears overnight.. it causes mass chaos..
@midgetman433 Sorry but the truth is the truth. The recession that Carter ran against was over by the 3rd quarter. Carter inherited a growing economy. Also it is a fact that oil prices were rising BEFORE Iran blew up. That is also a fact. The shah put himself there, and Carter pulled the rug out from under him. Carters problems were of his own doing.
It's amazing to me,the Dems last 4 presidents had done more to destroy the US infrastructure and defense as well as reputation among people from within and without, the Republicans have tofix things and the Dems raise hell. Carter is a nutjob.Clinton a lying adulterer,Obama and the Dems are socialists/marxists who refuse to listen to whom they work for,and are determined to destroy America to make their name in the history books. We need to pull our heads out of our asses and turn things around.
@stitch656 Yes , the democrats destroyed defense--wait, who funded and trained bin Laden, the Taliban, and then put them in power? Who sold weapons to Iran? Oh yeah, Reagan.
Clinton gave the longest period of peace and prosperity in our country's history! The 90s were great for America! Just because he couldn't keep it in his pants doesn't make him a bad president. Clinton lied about cheating on his wife that resulted in no one getting injured or dieing but still was impeached by the house and Bush lied about Iraq and put us in a war that has killed over 150,000 people! Efforts to impeach Bush never got anywhere!
@Willjk89 the prosperity you talk about was forced by the contract with america he had to come towards the middle politically and it was a republican congress that forced the spending cuts and tax breaks. and if you noticed clinton took the credit for it. i THOUGHT he was a good president his morals on the other hand really were lacking.
If you use the "are you better off than you were four years ago..." test, then jimmy was the runner up and Obama will be the worst by quit a lot. Try this, watch the Reagan '81 inauguration speech and then watch Obama's. It will put it in perspective...
Yes,college kids get to travel, dictators show what they want the students to see, and tug at heart strings to get Carter to go and get money for them, only to have the warlords take the money, capture the supplies to the starving people and sell the stuff on the black market. Investigate Rhuwanda as an example.Carter has not met a Dictator he didn't like, and his son Barrak Husein Obama is the same way. Stay in Habititat for Humanity and out of politics. He's arrogant and misguided!
Yeah, uh Jimmy is it?,.....I think if I could do anything over, it would be to ahve your mother see other people! Perhaps stir the genetic mix a few more times in hopes of a better outcome!
I remember the first time I cried over politics...it was when Jimmy Carter was elected. He was the worst of all presidents, creating inflation and unemployment at the same time. He has no business speaking publicly, but should be hidning in shame.
The worst president ever was George W. Bush. It is a historical fact now and forever. Whether measured by decreasing income, ballooning, debt, corporate corruption, Iraq, 9/11, Katrina, or the death of science, he presided over the worst 8 years other than the great depression or civil war.
Who gets a memo in August 2001 saying "Bin Laden determined to attack US using commercial airplanes" and does nothing? That would be GW Bush. You're welcome america
I bet Jimmy Carter is glad that now he's no longer the WORST U.S. PRESIDENT!!! That badge is now worn by this no good mother fucking commie in the White House....
I see it's clear that you and I will never agree on this issue, so there's no need to waist any more of our time and comment space arguing over it. As far as my bias is concerned, I'm a registered unaffiliated voter. In the last Presidential election, I voted for the Libertarian candidate Bob Barr. So, I'm not bias, I vote for the person, not the party. Have a good day jutewe, enjoy the site.
Enough of this! Three different news organizations investigated the 2000 election, George W. Bush won, hands down. Funny thing that I don't hear a lot about the recent Illinois Senate race. It's clearly obvious that Al Frankin stole that seat and election.
Ah...I see. So you are certain that Al Franken stole his Senate seat, but you can't even get the State right. Franken ran and won in Minnesota. That you don't even know the basic facts, but still say it is "clearly obvious" that the Senate seat was stolen only reveals your bias.
My mistake, it was Minnesota. But calling me bias only shows your bias. Al Frankin and his buddies from ACORN stole the election, pure and simple. During the recount, some of the districts that went for Frankin had more votes than they had actual registered voters, a fact that was largely covered up by the media and overlooked by the courts. Numerous accounts of voter fraud and intimidation are rampant, yet the media and the courts do nothing. Who's the one showing bias now?
Quotes extracted from the Minnesota Supreme court proceedings (watch?v=QCIuOIDkZkE):
Judge: Counsel, Im going to pause here and just ask Is there any evidence of any fraud, any favouritism or anything other than that the elections officials here in Minnesota tried to do the best job possible and apply the law?
NORM COLEMANs lawyer: Absolutely not. Absolutely not. And theres no voter fraud. Theres no election fraud.
During the recount, some of the districts that went for Frankin had more votes than they had actual registered voters
Wrong again. What Colemans lawyers actually argued was that because in some precincts there were discrepancies between the number of votes in the machine count, the number of votes in the hand recount and the number of voters who had signed in, that some ballots might have been double-counted. However they failed to show evidence of anything other than administrative errors.
to exstend on what Jonpaul is saying, Other countries donmt' care we are nice to them, they Hate america because we are the super power they envoy so that by default puts a targte on our back. Look at Gitmo, other countries cried and said close it down. we did and none will help us by taking of the scum bags in gitmo. Nice. I say fuck the ones who hate us do what we want and help the ones who love us like Isreal. We turn out back on them we turn it on God, and I dont want to be in that postition
The question is ridiculous and the respondent is probably one of the worst President in U.S history. Why do we care what Carter thinks? His judgement is flawed as evidenced by the severe recession and gas rationing of the late 1970s. Reagan was and still is, a hero for what he did for this country. He presided over the greatest peace time economic growth in this country. George W. Bush protected America. Obama is not. if your nice to the world they will be nice back. Forget about it.
Find it interesting that Iran and North Korea were fairly silent while Bush was in office and now postulating while Obama is in office? It is because Obama lives in a dream world. THis dream world says
Jimmy Carter brought more peace then Bush did.And you do know that Ronald Reagan only won because of the people in Iran refused to let the hostages go.Jimmy Carter had already came to an agreement with them to be let go a looong time before the election of 1980,but the Irany goverment didnt say when and waited purposley until Ronald Reagan became president to inform Carther 2 hours before the swearing in that they where free.
KHRIST KID!: In excess of 20% interest rates, millions put out of work, gas shortages, tax increases upon tax increases......NO KAHOONIES!....Carter's Administration was a F&*%in NIGHTMARE......Reagan won because he said what he meant AND meant what he said! LOOK AT HIS RECORD & try putting together some facts BEFORE you form an opinion (regrettably your FAR from alone on this as it is EXACTLY what put A "PINKO" in the whitehouse AND why the country is headed down A WORSE path Carter took it!)
Ok you do know that would of happend to anyone if they because presidnt from 1976-1980 it would of happend to Ford it would of happend to Kennedy it would of happend to Reagan if he won.Carter became president at a bad time and who said i wanted Obama 100%? I supported Kucinich.
HORSE - SHIT! .... was there!......I voted for that BONE HEAD......HIS policy's made it WORSE......Just as I am confident you (will "eventually") find to be the case (regardless of whether you will recognize, save admit it OR not) with the current administration!
I think that has been the common rhetoric for quite some time now.
I don't know, Jimmy Carter wasn't a Leftist like Obama is but Jimmy Carter was just a weak and ineffective leader who simply didn't know what he is doing.
Obama knows what he is doing because he honestly does not want a free market. But that's fine because that is what he ran on and what the people voted for.
So people got exactly what they asked for and they should be pleased with it.
I've seen the comments. Jimmy Carter was the worst president -ever. I'm no fan of Bush, but Obama will be Carter part two. Hold onto your butts, because here it goes....
I do think it's interesting that all of the Carter haters blame Carter for the 21% interest rates. It's demonstrates that 1) you don't understand anything about the economy since it's was Volker's policies as FED chairman, a relatively politically independent position that caused the interest rate spike, and 2) the interest rate didn't really sky rocket until Reagan took office. It's typical of the selective memories and sound bite deep level of knowledge most "conservativs" have...
and while I give Reagan credit for going the distant to stamp out inflation, he also made his share of poor decision for the economy, princibly that he replace Volker with Greenspan in 87'. Greenspan of course is probably more responsible than any other single person for the wealth destroying bubbles that recently brought us almost to the brink of depression.
I'll grant you that Carter didn't have the conceptual framework that allowed for Paul Volker, who became Chairman under Carter, to constriction the money supply to the degree that he had to end the rampant inflation of the late 70's. However those economic problems weren't Carter's fault either. No those problems squarely belonged to Nixon, his price controls and willingness to sacrifice the U.S. economy for political gain. Something that Bush was all to willing to do as well.
Boy i miss the Carter years 12% infation and 12% unemployment 21% on home loans and 8 million jobs lost in 4 years what Obama won the election Happy days are hear again the Carter years all over again.
So you think Bush had nothing to with the current depression? You think Obama magically made it, even when he only was a senator? Carters (god bless him) recession was at the end of his turn, arguably partly because of his policies. Obama INHERITS this mess (along side a huge deficit) from a two time republican president, the not so honorable George W. Bush!
don't disrespect a president like that. Depression=Bush? Recession=Carter? haha..ya right...look at the numbers... Carter's were much much worse.. obama is more of the same as bush... same iraq plan same massive spending same afghan policy same gov't interference stimulus=obama bailouts=bush economically they are the same person
Yeah I am going to trust Carter. He really did so much for our country. He was definitely better than Reagan. Just look at all the successes he had. CARTER FOR A LOUSY TOMORROW.
You gotta be Kiddin' me! Really? Mailaise forever Carter? Bill Clinton wouldn't undo the Reagan years! Hillary wouldn't undo the Bush years either! America's best days are really ahead of us and not behind us.
1980...after Reagan took control..he let the lobbyist cat out of the bag!
and it was never trickle down economics..it's been trickle up ever since!Private profit medical has ruined america since Regan.
Credit industry was given full rein to buttfuck americans.Regan made illegal arms deals to promote his big dick image on foreign affairs. He destroyed our unions, illegals have been hired with a blind eye..since then..and Carter is Mr. Gloom and Doom? Fuck you dumbasses.Rush Bimbaugh shitto-heads

Oh, Carter is not the worse President in U. S. history. But he IS one of the three worse of the 20th century; Woodrow Wilson - L.B.J. - Carter. Palin in 2012 or 2016, 2020!
you do not know your facts! LBJ? Carter? wow, they say LBJ did the most out of any president being in offices, Carter was the reason why americans had money after 1980. wow, you need to check your sources!
His decisions sucked before he was president, WHILE he was president, and AFTER he was president. How can someone like carter fuck up everything so bad in just 4 years and still get a microphone shoved in his face?
Now I realize that this video blog is operated by stupid shit for brains. Talk about hind sight, Monday night quarterback, shit fucks. This You Tube crud is great for fellow dope heads that are concerned about the price of gas, rent, mortage,m ect. cutting into the .oz, rather than the fix of such. Good going on the use of brain cells. I do hope your grand parents rest well in their graves. (no offense to living grand parents by no means)
Carter, the first and hopefully last socialist president. This country still has a limp because of him. With Obama as their candidate The Democrats have officially become the Socialist Party and should change it's name to that and at least be honest about it. The former Communist nations of the cold war scrambled to get out that and the Dems want to dive head first into it. Idiots.
No way. I despise Republicans just as much as Democrats. Or should I say Recorplicans and Gimmecrats. I'm a Constitutionalist. Named after that "piece of paper" that Washington D.C. has seemed to have forgotten. Place your bets... Which foreign lobbying firm is uncle George going to work for in November? He and Clinton should form their own lobby firm called "Whores for Hire"..We have connections from Saudi to China.
Quite right that both partie are under the thumb of lobbies - but why pay blind allegiance to the Constitution, instead of establishing your own moral code for governance? The Constitution bore slavery, child serfdom, and every kind of business fraud, corruption, and extortion. It's had to be amended many times based on the prevailing moral zeitgeist.
If it were up to me the President would serve only one 4 year term and Congress and Senate would be limited to one term as well. Then I would ban any lawyers from holding any of those offices and I would make them sign a contract that if they went to work for a lobbying firm after holding office they would have to pay back their govt. salary, ten fold, forfeit their pension and they would have to pay 75% in taxes until they rolled over and died. Am I too harsh on these a--holes??
Actually not harsh enough - the only way to escape this dystopic government is to completely recreate it from scratch, beginning with putting the Constitution in the wastepaper basket and starting with a blank sheet. More importantly, the underlying culture must change too.
May God bless you Mr. President. You made America proud.
what did Jimmy Carter did. 444 days americans in captivity. Invasion of Afghanestan by Soviet, 22% interest rate, president of Nicaragua deposed, Shah of Iran deposed ( creation of Ben Ladin) and more. What did he do..wowo boycotted Olympic games...
Please vote for a strong president not a wishy washy one..
Reagan, Kennedy, Lincoln, FDR, Bush (both). strong presidents. make the country proud.
President Carter was a terrible leader. His policy's are still giving us problems today. Even George Bush runs circles around Carter in leadership. Atleast Bush went after the terrorist instead of doing nothing like Carter did and wants even now.
Actually he did do something. But to show how much of a leader he was, he failed. Your right he's a terrible leader. If the Russians had attacked us during Carters time we wouldn't be here.
Bush has been an absolute disaster with foreign policy, domestic policy, and the economy.
Also, saying Bush went after the terrorists; do you mean in Afghanistan, which ANY president would've done, or in Iraq, which was one of the stupidest, worst moves in American history? Or maybe how Bush failed to go after the terrorists even with clear warning before 9/11?

Yes I do. And make no apologies about it. Jimmy Carter is causing us harm by shooting off his senile mouth. Bush may not be a great president, he may be a jackass, but no former member of the staff, or the office should down grade the U.S. like he has. It's called class and Mr. carter has none. As for you dishwithtrish, you have nothing more than 'so there'. Shut up and come with a real debate. Make a point, lead us on a logical journey. If you have nothing-then shut the f**K up.
I really wonder. i consider myself independent, but I have to wonder why deomcrats parade out Jimmy Carter as their 'voice of reason'. He was an abysmal failure as president (remember 21% interest and the sweater speech?) In my opinion-mine alone, he was more reponsible for 9/11 than even Bush and Clinton. When the radicals seized our embassy, he did nothing-embolding them to bigger things. In politics and world affairs, Jimmy Carter is a failure and he should shut his mouth.
right on Timonschenko! I served in the Army under the Carter Adim and he nothing did but cut our defence budget and we where forced to train with old outdated equipment.
I appreciate your comment. I just happen to think that jimmy Carter has done more harm to US than he ever did good. Now, he is a senile old man that should not be taken seriously, but the news outlets quote him as if he is some 'REAL STATESMAN'.
Actually Bush is doing more than you think. No one can stop what we're going. Because India and China are becoming more productive that means business is there. Clinton wouldn't have done squat. Besides Clinton made our tax rates more complicated because of the "Removal of Republican Policies" campaign.
21% interest didn't happen until Regan was in office. In either event this was action caused by the Fed to stop inflation and really didn't have much to with the President. Although again I'll grant that Regan was prepared to let the Fed go much further than Carter most likely would have-- hence the 21% interest rate. I don't think Carter would have had the will to go that far, which in hindsight we now understand was absolutely necessary.

this man was an abject failure.his opinion is worthless.his accomplishments zero.he didn't even have to wait for history to be branded one of the worst presidents ever.
Abject failure, don't you think that is a little harsh, he did found the WHO, he eradicated Malaria from the U.S., also Yellow Fever, and some other more minor diseases from the U.S. He like clinton put us into a state of surplus, only to be squandered by Reagan and his War on Drugs, muchlike Bush's War on Drugs and the marked deficit that followed, just like with Reagan. He may not have been the best president, but he is deffinately far from the worse.
surplus?66billion deficet,12%interest rates,21%prime,doule digit inflation.he fired his entire cabnet, tax increases, soviets invade afganistan, not to mention #1 on the carter hit parade iran hostages.the debate has been over for years, jimmy carter was the weakest and if not the absolute worst presidents he is right near the bottom.yellow fever? you have got to be a relative
I can't respond to this in 500 words, basically you are wrong, yes in the begining of his presidency the economy went caput due to the energy crisis, yet his policies, including his tax increase where the reason why america recovered, and recovered well, that isn't failure, and Yellow Fever, that is a horrible disease, you either die or are permently brain damaged, thank God he eradicated it. Iran, yeah is intervention failed, and the USSR he handled diplomatically by ending the wheat treaty
Supremacy? are you kidding, we cant even make our own clothes, electronics, toys, shoes, auto parts, housewares etc anymore. We are not close to the top in education, healthcare, literacy, freedoms, exports, manufacturing, clean environment. We have a high crime rate, overpopulated prisons, tons of poor people, drug addicts, mentally ill living on the streets, and we cant even make a decent car or television. You sir are a wing nut
There is no de facto separation between Israeli-Arabs and Jews, the situation in no way resembles South Africa's apartheid system. Those so called Palestinians that want a country that called Palestine with no Jewish people allowed, that would become a true apartheid state.

RoyRolling 1 year ago
Carter inherited inflation from Ford and Nixon's prosecution of the Vietnam War. His appointment of Paul Volcker to head he Fed whipped inflation by 1981. Volcker did what was right and tamed inflation by raising rates, unlike the Clinton and Bush appointed feds.
Again, Reagan took credit for what Carter did. And now right wing morons blame Obama for an economy wrecked by offshoring of jobs permitted by Reagan and the Bush family. No wonder America is so messed up.
caisediab 1 year ago
It was Carter who got the hostages freed from Iran because he was diplomatic with the PLO. He used his contacts with Arafat to get the hostages freed with Khomeini.
That happened just before the election. Reagan the SOB and his people used Bush's contacts with the CIA in Langley (the hostages themselves were CIA)to delay the release until after the election.
If Carter was re-elected, we probably would have free health care, better jobs and peace in the Middle East.
caisediab 1 year ago
@caisediab If Carter had been elected the US would have been in a continuing recession, a Soviet Union the dominant power in the world, millions of unemployed and war in the Middle East!
Is that the world you want? Thank god for Mr. Regan!!!
That is something we can all agree on!
Thanks for the opportunity to clarify.
mikefastener 1 year ago
@mikefastener Firstl, the US wasnt in a recession in 1980. It was suffering from high inflation, nheritedt from Nixon/Ford and the Vietnam war. Carter's appointment of Paul Volker to the fed tamed that by 1982.
The Soviets were suing for peace by the 70s--CIA assessment of them in 1978 showed that they were as powerful as kittens. Do you believe in Santa Claus too?
Um, we have war in the middle east now, thanks to Reagan and the Bush family, and their support of Al Qaeda.
caisediab 1 year ago
@caisediab So the Soviets were as powerful as kittens according to the CIA--same agency regarding WMD in Iraq? I guess all those Soviet missles were turned off! (Santa would like to see you now!) lolol
I would say the American people made their judgement on Carter at the voting booth!
At least we can both agree on that!
mikefastener 1 year ago
@mikefastener The CIA actually was saying there were NO WMDs in Iraq.
The white house office of special planning, i.e., the neocons, were the ones who lied about the WMD. These are the same guys who, through the Committee on the President Danger II, said that the Soviets were going to take over the world. The reality is, at the time, that the Soviets were already in decline.
Don't get me wrong, I can't stand Carter anymore than Reagan. Both represent the wealthy and don't about us.
caisediab 1 year ago
@caisediab Thank you for your candour. With both Regan and Carter in your, "bad books" who would you support?
I still believe the party of Regan is the best bet.
Please, educate me....seriously...!
mikefastener 1 year ago
@mikefastener I would choose Salvador Allende. Reagan, Carter, and every American president has blood on their hands.Lots of blood. I don't support killers.
Carter for instance increased aid to the dictator Suharto of Indonesia after Suharto's death squads killed 200,000 people.
I live in Jordan now and thanks to Obama, Bush, and predecessors, we have in power here a ruthless dictator who prohibits any assembly or free speech. American aid and military presence maintains his power.

2 minutes ago

nubnukka 7 months ago
@nubnukka umm.. the food and gas prices that you speak of are a result of inflation, much of which is the fault of the Federal reserve's manipulation of currency, you cant blame carter for high food prices, also the oil prices were the result of the Iranian revolution which you cant really blame carter for..
midgetman433 7 months ago

nubnukka 7 months ago
@nubnukka the majority of taxes on commodities and other products such as food and clothing are taxed at the state level... the price hikes during Carter's presidency was due to inflation and fact that the shit really hit the fan during those 4 years.. he inherited a recession, about 2 years in the Iranians decided to overthrow the shah, and cut off oil supply to the US, decided to take some Americans hostage. also you are not accounting for the policies of nixon and ford who preceded him..

ToddAldrich 7 months ago
@ToddAldrich wtf are you smoking?? look up the recession under gerald ford... carter ran his whole presidential campaign on that... and how is the overthrow of the shah carter's fault?? he wasnt the one who put him there... it was a republican president.. as for you saying the revolution was only a contributing factor... thats like saying HIV is only a contributing factor for AIDS.. when our second largest oil supplier disappears overnight.. it causes mass chaos..
midgetman433 7 months ago
@midgetman433 Sorry but the truth is the truth. The recession that Carter ran against was over by the 3rd quarter. Carter inherited a growing economy. Also it is a fact that oil prices were rising BEFORE Iran blew up. That is also a fact. The shah put himself there, and Carter pulled the rug out from under him. Carters problems were of his own doing.

So, I'm not bias, I vote for the person, not the party. Have a good day jutewe, enjoy the site.
24klc67 2 years ago
Enough of this! Three different news organizations investigated the 2000 election, George W. Bush won, hands down. Funny thing that I don't hear a lot about the recent Illinois Senate race. It's clearly obvious that Al Frankin stole that seat and election.
24klc67 2 years ago
Ah...I see. So you are certain that Al Franken stole his Senate seat, but you can't even get the State right. Franken ran and won in Minnesota. That you don't even know the basic facts, but still say it is "clearly obvious" that the Senate seat was stolen only reveals your bias.
jutewe 2 years ago
My mistake, it was Minnesota. But calling me bias only shows your bias. Al Frankin and his buddies from ACORN stole the election, pure and simple. During the recount, some of the districts that went for Frankin had more votes than they had actual registered voters, a fact that was largely covered up by the media and overlooked by the courts. Numerous accounts of voter fraud and intimidation are rampant, yet the media and the courts do nothing. Who's the one showing bias now?
24klc67 2 years ago
Who's the one showing bias now?
That would still be you.
(cont)
jutewe 2 years ago
During the recount, some of the districts that went for Frankin had more votes than they had actual registered voters
Wrong again. What Colemans lawyers actually argued was that because in some precincts there were discrepancies between the number of votes in the machine count, the number of votes in the hand recount and the number of voters who had signed in, that some ballots might have been double-counted. However they failed to show evidence of anything other than administrative errors.

Roshibear 2 years ago 2
and while I give Reagan credit for going the distant to stamp out inflation, he also made his share of poor decision for the economy, princibly that he replace Volker with Greenspan in 87'.

Oh, Carter is not the worse President in U. S. history. But he IS one of the three worse of the 20th century; Woodrow Wilson - L.B.J. - Carter. Palin in 2012 or 2016, 2020!
RosalitaBU8 3 years ago
you do not know your facts! LBJ? Carter? wow, they say LBJ did the most out of any president being in offices, Carter was the reason why americans had money after 1980. wow, you need to check your sources!

The FORMER United Soviet Socialist Republic!

Idiots.

So one is to presume that you support the other faction of the national Business Party?
CharlestonArtist 3 years ago
He and Clinton should form their own lobby firm called "Whores for Hire"..We have connections from Saudi to China.
clayp72 3 years ago

Am I too harsh on these a--holes??
clayp72 3 years ago

RoyIngle 4 years ago 11
Actually he did do something. But to show how much of a leader he was, he failed. Your right he's a terrible leader. If the Russians had attacked us during Carters time we wouldn't be here.
MuskratandRatman 3 years ago
He wasnt a bad leader because he made wrong decisions, he was a bad leader because he made no decisions.
pondopreach 3 years ago
You're an idiot.
Spazman173 3 years ago
Not to mention the so called "fair" elections of dictators that he's overseen. This man is still dangerous.

Jimmy Carter was a stupid dumb peresident about Iran policy. In fact he gave power to Khomeini in Iran.

If you have nothing-then shut the f**K up.
timonschenko 4 years ago
I really wonder. i consider myself independent, but I have to wonder why deomcrats parade out Jimmy Carter as their 'voice of reason'. He was an abysmal failure as president (remember 21% interest and the sweater speech?) In my opinion-mine alone, he was more reponsible for 9/11 than even Bush and Clinton. When the radicals seized our embassy, he did nothing-embolding them to bigger things. In politics and world affairs, Jimmy Carter is a failure and he should shut his mouth.
timonschenko 4 years ago
You seriously think Carter should shut his mouth ? He's more responsible for 911 ??? I think you should take your own advice !!
dishwithtrish 4 years ago
right on Timonschenko! I served in the Army under the Carter Adim and he nothing did but cut our defence budget and we where forced to train with old outdated equipment.
roger6060 4 years ago 7
I appreciate your comment. I just happen to think that jimmy Carter has done more harm to US than he ever did good. Now, he is a senile old man that should not be taken seriously, but the news outlets quote him as if he is some 'REAL STATESMAN'.
timonschenko 4 years ago 3
I agree with you...Reagan cleaned up Carters mess....Bush isnt too good but Id go with Bush over Carter any day....
sprego1688 4 years ago 2
Actually Bush is doing more than you think. No one can stop what we're going. Because India and China are becoming more productive that means business is there. Clinton wouldn't have done squat. Besides Clinton made our tax rates more complicated because of the "Removal of Republican Policies" campaign.
MuskratandRatman 3 years ago
21% interest didn't happen until Regan was in office. In either event this was action caused by the Fed to stop inflation and really didn't have much to with the President. Although again I'll grant that Regan was prepared to let the Fed go much further than Carter most likely would have-- hence the 21% interest rate. I don't think Carter would have had the will to go that far, which in hindsight we now understand was absolutely necessary.

this man was an abject failure.his opinion is worthless.his accomplishments zero.he didn't even have to wait for history to be branded one of the worst presidents ever.
exweez 4 years ago
Abject failure, don't you think that is a little harsh, he did found the WHO, he eradicated Malaria from the U.S., also Yellow Fever, and some other more minor diseases from the U.S. He like clinton put us into a state of surplus, only to be squandered by Reagan and his War on Drugs, muchlike Bush's War on Drugs and the marked deficit that followed, just like with Reagan. He may not have been the best president, but he is deffinately far from the worse.
MarcusVorenus 4 years ago
this is a reply to exweez calling Carter a failure, I don't know why it didn't post as a reply instead of at the top...oh well.
MarcusVorenus 4 years ago
surplus?66billion deficet,12%interest rates,21%prime,doule digit inflation.he fired his entire cabnet, tax increases, soviets invade afganistan, not to mention #1 on the carter hit parade iran hostages.the debate has been over for years, jimmy carter was the weakest and if not the absolute worst presidents he is right near the bottom.yellow fever? you have got to be a relative
exweez 4 years ago 2
I can't respond to this in 500 words, basically you are wrong, yes in the begining of his presidency the economy went caput due to the energy crisis, yet his policies, including his tax increase where the reason why america recovered, and recovered well, that isn't failure, and Yellow Fever, that is a horrible disease, you either die or are permently brain damaged, thank God he eradicated it. Iran, yeah is intervention failed, and the USSR he handled diplomatically by ending the wheat treaty
MarcusVorenus 4 years ago
Supremacy? are you kidding, we cant even make our own clothes, electronics, toys, shoes, auto parts, housewares etc anymore.
