I just realized that she's been taking care of felines all these years--felines, known for killing birds--yes, birds, whom Hitchcock attached to her arms with rubber bands or whatever and who almost pecked her eyes out during the shooting of the attic scene. Okay, I just got it. Hmm. Working on that film must have had quite an impression on her.

head on the wall, rug on the floor: Shes talking about an exotic animal being turned into a trophy.

Its interesting how that phrase recalls a screen test she underwent for Hitchcock. In it, Hitchcock, giving her some basic direction, asks her to turn her head toward another actor until it drops off. Nervous but poised, she continues the joke: And rolls across the floor.

About my previous comment: Youtube's inadequate program wouldn't save certain punctuation marks from it, such as apostrophes and quotation marks. Not my fault. In all things, I like perfection—or something humanely close to it. Youtube doesn't.
