@diemuslimsdie1 -- What produces such an ignorant, immoral, cowardly, racist attitude as yours?
It takes guts to swim against the tide and Congressman Lee has them. You don't.
She's been proven right every day since she made that speech. She couldn't stop the train from wrecking, but she at least had the gumption to try. And she's originally from El Paso, which, as a Texan, makes me proud.
Look at it this way, you're only in your 20's, so you're going to get to pay and pay and pay for Iraq.
Did the government pay you to write this, or are you really that ignorance of the facts which came to light after 9/11? The irony of your statement "sorry ass families who produced you" makes me almost laugh...but I laugh no longer at people like you; I only shudder to know you can produce as well. Do us all a favor a leave before this turns into a third-world shit hole. In terms of intelligence we are already there...you serve as proof.
May God bless Congresswoman Lee. We need members of Congress with such depth of morality, faith, and courage. To those who pray destruction on others, consider that evil is never justifiable. It was not justifiable on 9/11, it was not justifiable before 9/11, and it is not justifiable after 9/11. Let us not become the evil that we deplore.
Thank God for Americans like Rep. Barbara Lee. My Hero. Truly disappointing that no one else had the guts to stand up and say that on the House Floor.
An example of a Class 1 Democrat (see previous post) is Rep Shelia Jackson Lee of Houston. One of her best qualities is the complete lack of constraining hindrance of facts. Refer to examples of her statements on the Moon/Mars, North/South Vietnam, and other issues. However, most disturbing is her lack of respect for her constituents.
Rep. Lee reminds us of the 2 general classes of present day Democrats: Those who are proud of their breathtaking ignorance and those who long ago may had some vestige of reason, but it has ceased long ago. The later is left with a frozen mind easily led by others. Either class has little respect for the truth or history of civilization. In short, the Democrats are a religion, a disease which can not be sustained. It should be allowed to wither and fade from existence.
Very good speech. If I were a member of Congress and if I had known that this Resolution was not going to be used to capture Osama Bin Laden and bring him to justice, but instead to begin a pointless nation-building exercise in Afghanistan, I would have voted "Nay" as well.

This speech is a sorry spectacle of defeatism at it's least and treasonable lack of patriotism at it's worst. Whether Bush dropped the ball in terms of military strategy in afghanistan and with rash emotion sent our armed forces into Iraq War is a rational point of debate. BUT. . . . . . in this world if someone whether it be an enemy nation or terrorist group with quasstate capabilities like the Taliban and Alqueda YOU ATTACK BACK! END OF STORY! YOU RETALIATE WITH VIOLENT PRECISION!
@Wedihadr11 I think precision would entail actually retaliating against the people who attacked us rather than just going in and destroying a couple of entire countries that did not attack us. That seems rather imprecise to me. Precise retaliation also does not require a general "resolution to use force."
In Afghanistan case, that country has seen it's infrastructure destroyed long before we invaded it in 2001. Nonetheless, my general point was not to attack back with or without precision if attacked by an enemy force or nation, butto just attack if you are attacked. In this regard the Rt Honourable Barbara Lee failed her country by her lukewarm patriotism (supposing that she has any inkling of this quality) during a moment of National tragedy which needed a National response. (to be continued)
In the viewpoint of Patriotic virtue, when then President Bush introduced his Resolution for the Authorization of Force in Afghanistan to be passed or not at the discretion of Congress, it was meant to be a political formality a sort of legistlative roll call of the troops before the impending struggle. Because it was taken for granted that any real American in Congress would stand by the Commander-in-Chief to launch war against the enemy aggressors that attacked our Homeland. (to be continnued)
When it comes to the technicalities of prosecuting war, troops and units are needed for the struggle, there is plenty room for responsible debate, but on the sungular issue of an enemy attack on the Homeland, there SHOULD BE A UNANIMOUS voice of noble Patriotic anger at the enemy and the desire to bring about his capitulation by force of arms! Like the 12/07/1941 Congressional decalration of war against Japan after it's raid on Pearl Harbor at the behest of the then President FDR.
That was a unanimous vote with the notable and ignomous exception of the pacifist, Congresswoman Ranklin of Montana, whose spirit is reborn in the guise of Barabara Lee. Such people who fail to stand by and aggresively defend their Country during moments of National peril like 12/07/1941 or 09/11/2001 desiring a reciprocal National attack are not be honored with office and should be punished by being relegated to obscurity at the least and revulsion at the most. God Bless America.
I don't have to say God Bless all the world because people from different other countries if they are patriots would exclaim "God Bless.....(respective country)."
just as a note: the number of _civilians_ killed in afghanistan and iraq (as a direct result of US actions, that doesn't even include the victims of the ensuing civil war that broke out after the occupation) outweighs the number of victims of 911 by far already, and there is no end in sight.
where is their justice?
do their relatives have the right to kill other american civilians?
"An eye for an eye, and soon the whole world is blind" ...
On the issue of justice for the Afghan collateral damage victims of our drone attacks (which I believe you are reffering to but did not explicitly state) there exists a policy drafted by U.S. military forces in Afghanistan for the compensation of Afghan civilians who throught the indiscriminate accidents of war have suffered injuries, fatalities to family members and property damage during operations against Queda/Taliban forces.
so, handing out a few dollar bills (probably even just a fraction of the cost of the missile, bomb or drone that was used) to people after destroying their village and killing their children makes it all right?
whether or not civilians are adequately compensated for their suffering is not the issue (and I doubt that they are). the mere fact that the USA is not only participating, but leading, an illegal invasion and occupation of both Afghanistan and Iraq...
(NATO article 5 should have never been invoked over 911!) that claims countless of lives every day, without reducing the threat of terrorism or even bringing those responsible for the attacks to justice is a shame for everything the US used to stand for.
one cannot claim the moral high ground, pretending to fight for justice and then ignore nearly every law there has ever been, regarding war. illegal invasion? renditions? torture? you name it. ...
the only way to change that would be to start hunting down and prosecuting the real criminals, the people responsible for the aforementioned atrocities. but that might be a bit too much to expect from a nation that doesn't even recognize the international criminal court, in fear that maybe one day their own soldiers, and even more so politicians and military leaders, could end up having to justify their actions in front of an independent court. ...
I don't know if Barbara Lee was foreseeing this kind of development when she held this speech, but she sure was wise enough to not act on an impulse, however strong that one might have been, and think clearly about the consequences of any actions.
She's a bitch enough said. Now if she was forsee problems in the execution of military campaigns these problems can be alleviated through General Staff conferences where the Chiefs of Staff of the Armed Forces meet to discuss strategy. Furthermore, there are annual Armed Services Congressional hearing committees where Chiefs of Staffs can get appointed and the same Chiefs of Staff give statements on the progress of military campaigns, readiness of Armed Forces and what (to be continued)
@Wedihadr11 hey asshole she probably has done more in her lifetime than you will ever acomplish in your lifetime. no one stood up besides her, and tell me how is sh a bitch youve never met her. and she was forsee? get your fucking grammer right.

What about uniting like so many of us are doing for 9/11 Truth. Let's be tolerant & understanding about exploitation by the global elite. War is big business. How are we free if we're involved in three wars? Wow! Very big business! Everybody knows Bush Family & the Clintons have ties to oil. Clinton signed off on NAFTA this is why all our jobs are going away. And he put up our National parks for collateral to Communist China. The steel from 9/11 was quickly shipped to China, more jobs gone.
