Yea I leave on the 31st MEU in January with 2/7 and we just did this shit this past wednesday to friday at pendelton. Not gonna lie its a challenge. its easy as hell to freak out underwater but it was fun at the same time
well who ever u r jar head i was with you last week and i was scared shitless, only to realize how easy it was. Except when we didnt have air and my setbelt jammed while wearing the blackout goggles. lol
My brother worked offshore oil rigs in the gulf of Mexico. He had to do similar training. 4 rounds, 2 of them without lights. Said it was some scary shit.
I remember when we did this with L 3/1 back in 1999. It scared most of my plattoon into not doing it. It looks worse than it is. We just had to try and keep from panicking underwater.
I did this not last week and I'm artillery in the marine corp. any one who goes on a MEU or has a significant chance flying on a helo over water has to do this.
