  • 我突然发现,我学的英语英美不分啊。。。。。。。。

  • Comment removed

  • actually there are stresses in French words

  • How to read 'vegetable'?

  • 姐系美式較低音 英國較高音

  • 如果在美國說港式英文會不會被歧視

  • 靚聲靚字,正

  • Brochure似乎重读在前面?

  • demand呢個字,讀economics 既人真係有兩種讀法

    DEmount同DEman

  • 我發現我學既英文係英/美夾雜(冇計老師教乜跟乜)

    會唔會好怪?

  • Thanks for sharing!!! pls keep on

  • I love ur voice, intonation and patient teaching! Thanks for your sharing. Appreciated!

  • 你英文没香港人口音哦。不过我觉得香港人口音比新加坡人和马来西亚人口音好一点讷。

  • @evawei Malaysian accent sounds "weird" to a lot of people, because the tone is all flat, anyway anyhow, most of the Malaysian can understand each other with such "weird" accent. There's nothing to compare among Singaporean, Malaysian and Hong Kong's accent, since all of us from different cultural background, and most important is the purpose of a language is to communicate with others, as long as the others understand what are you talking about, the job is done.

  • 我住加拿大幾年未聽過人讀"laugh"做"left"

  • No wonder my friends were laughing when I said 'buffet'..

  • 如果應為佢既發音錯左既...- -PO片上黎啦

    一堆字咁冇人理你- -(除左我)

    你睇你就算話岩都冇人俾手指公就知咩事啦- -

  • Sir, you are awesome!

  • /ae/ 係美國點發呢?例如 dam, man 或 dance, can't....... /ae/ 好似 /e//ea/

  • 唔明點解你會用 "lavatory" 依個 term 黎示範

美國人係用 "bathroom", "men's room", "ladies' room"... 同埋永遠唔會用 "toilet"

  • @champan250 are you on9?

  • @champan250 我覺得佢只系想跟翻上面一個例子-- Laboratory

  • @champan250

    系toilet系Britain E 中既用法

  • @kaiw0ng arrr... no.... "toilet" means the bowl (馬桶) in both side of the Atlantic, so it is never polite to say "going to toilet" in public...

  • 把聲好聽!

  • 喂,免费的教学,不要"弹"老师,其实在美国住久了,只要能流利沟通美国人不大挑剔发音,因美国是个大溶炉,各色人种会合,各个族裔有不用的口音,明白就得,反而英式英语也被认为是另一种乡下音。

  • 你有好多發音都發錯左

    下面都有人提出左

like... 'laboratory instead of la'boratory in US, but I want to add is that the 'bora' in between is pronounce as 'bra' instead of 'bo-ra' in US too

and there are two words: filet and fillet

fillet in UK pronounces differently from US

    but fillet pronounces the same

what u were pronouncing of UK's was filet not fillet

  • talking about /a:/ and /ae/, in america, ppl speak in different way depending on the regions they are grown up

for example, for "average", some people start with the vowel /a:/, but some /ae/

and the stress of "laboratory" should be at the front

  • Differences in the enunciation, elocution, articulation in English? Pay attention to all the vowels - a, e, i, o, u and it might ease you up in the British and American accents.....

  • Having grown up in Canada....it seems that our accent is quite uniform coast to coast, and is somewhat a mix between the generic US and Oxford UK accent. Go figure!

    Thanks for a good show.

  • laboratory 美式STRESS應該係頭

    ' laboratory

  • i think "news" should also be "nju:z" in American English...But as for tuna "'tuna" in American English and British English "'tju:na"

    just personal opinion..

  • dance的讀法不是美國變作** 而是英國變掉了

    這個位置的a本來就都應該像美式那樣發

  • 'laboratory, not la'boratory in American English

Part 3 is hard for me to master.

  • thanks =]

  • I learnt all these when I was in junior school. I almost forget all. Thank you sir for teaching me again! I live in Aus. The Aussie English is a bit close to British side but is actually a cross-over of both B & A plus some locally mixed! Ha Ha

  • I spoke English my whole life, had no idea how hard it is until I watch your videos, excellent work! Just so you know, oh in Australia, it's pronounced Just Seo Yoo kneo!

  • well done

    just a friendly reminder

ur american pronunciation of the word 'laboratory' is a bit bizarre

u have stressed the second vowel rather than the first vowel

in american english, the first vowel is stressed unlike british english where the second is stressed!

  • Agree with you, I've lived in USA for so long, when I went to UK a few years ago and heard people say the word, I couldn't even tell it was "laboratory".

  • thank you for sharing....learned a lot from you

  • the word "answer", "toward", "salmon", etc. are also pronounced differently in UK and US. ^.^
