The green stuff is just green twine. The perch is made out of 2 bolts that are epoxied to an aluminum tube. There is a short leash attached to the tube.

Heena - None of my parrots get car sick although some birds do. I have over 40 friends with parrots on the Yahoo group Our_Feathered_Friends If you are a new bird owner you might consider joining us there. We all care deeply about birds :)

Youtube won't let me post a link(facists.) Google yahoo groups, Once at yahoo groups home search for Our_Feathered_Friends. Were are the 1st group listed (we have 43 members). I am a moderator and can approve your membership. Some of our members do have car sick birds. Not mine though ;)
lol. Well my birds wings are clipped. We have too many dangers in ouyr hosue for a flighted bird to be flying around. Most my birds sit in the passenger seat like a human when they ride in the car. lol But I love the seat belt!!! It is a great idea for those few that have to ride in crates for the trip.
I have thought about putting up a perch in between the passenger and driver seat for birds to ride on. I would deffinetly use the seat belt thing for taht since they would be so close to me and tempted to jump on me. =)

I wanted a perch that was very secure, but easily removable. The headrest perch has worked out quite well :)
