  • what snare & head is he using?

  • Toto - On the Run at the beginning

  • Better than "Toast for Eli" for sure, but this just a bad sounding group of sessions musicians that have come together

  • The motherf*cking master of polyrhythmics!!

  • @i0s0u0c0k0 Absolutely! One hero of mine honoring the other. When Jeff passed, Vinnie was the guy I wanted to hear with Toto.

  • Did you hear them bust into "black friday" twards the end? Vinnie is paying his respects to the late great Jeff Porcaro.

  • @i0s0u0c0k0 Check 'On The Run' from Toto... Same riff

  • Great track and creative drumming but the audio is out of sync with the pictures.... shame. Thanks for the posting though.

  • I love this song--not 2 mention the brilliant playing of vinnie--he has a solid pocket & does some crazy shit with displacement

  • no one comes close to this guy.

  • Someone tell the keyboard player that 1992 called and wants its shirt back.

  • His face remembers me Virgil Donati. But his playing over everybody else.

  • Vinnie shows drummers how to itch their butt at :30

  • Well now we know that 2 people are robots without souls. How can you dislike this????

  • what are danny devito doing on keyboard

  • love that fill on :44 shit is fucking sick..most people dont even realize how hard these fills are to pull off perfectly

  • I just want to say that for me...Vinnie is like the Hatori Hanzo sword of fucking drumming. Absolute mutant militia.

  • Weckl is more musical and plays with greater fluidity and smooth.

  • @Easleytee weckl definitely plays with immense fluidity and smoothness. I wouldn't say any more musical but definitely his musicality is tremendous. The real taste that Vinnie offers is off-the-handle amazing ideas, and an unbelievable comfortability with things that would make normal drummers balk in horror.

  • And David Garfield won the "Ugliest Shirt" contest.

  • Vinnie is the most amazing of them all: Chambers, Gadd, Weckl, etc are fantastic drummers, but Vinnie destroys them all.

  • That is totally Keanu.

  • Keanu Reeves on bass and Rosie O'Donnell on keys.

  • @spacitydrummer4JC and who is playing guitar ?

  • @Arthurski73 micheal landau

  • I prefer Gadd + Weckl.

  • epic. @_@

  • right after 4:42, is that a mistake? I get it that Vinnies throws the signatures around like crazy. I can hear them everywhere but the snarehit at 4.42 seems off, or is it ment to land right there?

  • @antibulletdodger101 meant to land there its 4/4 then 3/4 with syncopated shit in there. I think the bass felt a bit weird coming out of it tho

  • @antibulletdodger101 Naw, man.

    HE'S VINNIE COLAIUTA.

Haha, naw, he's getting back into the groove, he was before the beat because of his venture at 4:40, so he waited for the beat on that one.

  • @antibulletdodger101 no he is off, little mistake :D im so happy, he is human

  • @fabiozamagni I think you should listen to that again. I had to listen to it a couple times and i thought you were right at first, but he is not off. It's hard to keep meter through that cause it's so heavily displaced but if you tap your foot to the meter and concentrate hard on not losing it you will see that it's dead on. Maybe he isn't human.

  • @antibulletdodger101 nah, nobody there is fucking up. It sounds strange because he is playing some odd groupings of triplets, like groups of 5 and 7 triplets, but it all adds up right and no one gets off. that last china hit before coming back into the groove is dead on "4 and".

  • @flipadiddle Vinnie is a master of time on a whole new level of comprehension, it confuses the hell out of me too and I play the drums ! The whole band are trying to out do each other and playing about... It's sooooo clever...

  • @antibulletdodger101 no its syncopation...sounds off but in reality..its not

  • theres abita pretzil logic in there!

  • ... super Colaiuta.. Nagyon jó!!!!!!!!!!

  • 1 person was playing in F Minor.

  • Chuck Norris came over to Vinnie's studio for a drum lesson. Vinnie gave him a Karate lesson instead.

  • @DarthKazi Great comment dude!!!

  • @DarthKazi LOL!!!!!

  • What kind of snaredrum do he use. Is Gretsch thats all i know ?

  • @MultiKrelle Here? Looks chrome over brass. But he probably plays

up to about 20 drums in any given month...

  • @headforthetropics u suck

  • @headforthetropics u suck!!!!!!......

  • about 15 years ago, my brother showed me 4:10 and told me "he walks away from the keys because he just CAN'T STAND HIS INCREDIBILITY" ;).

  • Wow

  • michael landau is the best

  • the keyboard player made himself look like the biggest fag. Vinnie's tearing to shreads as usual though

  • DAAAMMMM, Vinnie BURNING at 5.10 onwards. Fuck me sideways. Great post, saw this video a while back but haven't been able again till now.

  • lol i love vinnie.. great tune! start right to finish! killer

  • GRATE!!!

  • vinnie great - band horrible

  • @headforthetropics Whattttt????????????????????

  • @chaporock18 hey chap - allow me to clarify: vinnie is a druming GOD, except he often makes the unfortunate mistake of playing with bands that totally suck (they, like him, are phenomenal musicians - but the songs they play are just shite). I think that sting and zappa were his career highlights (especially zappa), every other ban he's been with (herbie hancock, etc...) are pants, at best. vinnie deserves better...

  • @headforthetropics JONI MITCHELL.

  • @headforthetropics Herbie Hancock? One of the greatest dude.

  • @headforthetropics Never heard his stuff with Allan Holdworth, eh?

Btw, Herbie Hancock composes more complex forms than Sting. Sting plays pop, progressive pop, but still pop. Herbie is jazzerific.

  • @headforthetropics what about holdsworth?

  • @headforthetropics lol dude herbie hancock is fuckin awesome what are you talking about?

  • @headforthetropics Go and buy a Justin Bieber record.

  • @JusticieroDeLaMuerte sure! do you have one for sale?

  • the keyboard solo is orgasmic, and the drumming simply amazing. I wonder when did Keanu Reeves learned to play bass...xD

  • @Wawasaki he can't act but he can play bass... he's a musician for real right? i mean, as a hobby.

  • what year is this????

  • @snareboi91

    MODERN DRUMMER 2000

  • @snareboi91 it says in the title xD

  • @snareboi91 u might as well asked what scale are they play in

  • that is sick!

  • beastiest video since im tweaked / attack of the 20lb pizza vid, thnx bro for the post

  • thank you so much for posting
