How did you render this? Cause when i upload 720p the 360 looks horrible and 720p not. I shoot 720p whith 30fps. What format you use and all? I need help cause i upload a lot :/ your video looks great in 360p too.
@KiyomiTakada No it can't. That's why I returned it and I bought the lumix tz7. It can zoom in during filming but I have to say, don't buy that one either... It's a waste of money for bad quality.
holy moly tha original is @ 24mbps, F Kodak i'm goin with Canon, it's very courteous of you to throw up the original not very many people do it, thanks
Yes! You can optically zoom/ re-focus while recording in HD!!! Watch my "Mississippi State University 2010" video testing. (DIGIC 4 processor inside!)
I have this camera and when I uploaded the videos to my computer, they wont play. I dont think i have the right file or format or..whatever to play them. Can anybody tell me what i need?
@TinyVampirePixie I have the same problem, kind of. The videos can be played in VLC, but I don't know any program for editing, it doesn't seem to work in Adobe Premiere Pro...
Lumix TZ7 can use optical zoom while recording videos + stereo mics but where this one can use digital zoom only & mono audio recording.. (if still pictures r ur main target then go for this, canon the best)
i am looking for a compact digital camera with good picture quality but mainly a good video function. it shouldnt be more expensive than 250 euro (364 us dollar) what would u recommend?
The HD video on the ZS3 seems superior (in my experience compared to this particular video). Neither the SX200 nor the ZS3 is very good at low light photography. They just aren't designed for it. The SX200 has some softening software that reduces low light noise, but at the cost of detail. So pick your poison. If you shoot a lot of low light, you should consider the G11, or even better, the Panasonic LX3... (or a DSLR).
I tested the panasonic for 2 weeks, and is a good camera, but very grainy in low light situations, and nothing you can do about it in the settings panel, I tried everything. So, i returned and got the SX200 red, and is very good in the low lights settings(have to play with the settings little bit, otherwise in AUTO you'll get some noise as well). For some video, you could use digital zoom at 4x max. and nobody will notice the diference with the optical.
Nice video man. i'm in a pinch between this and the Lumix ZS3. Tell me please if this camera auto focus's while recording, and if there is a Auto Focus Macro mode. That's going to be my deciding factor, thanks in advance!
The sound is pretty decent, as long as you're not at a very loud setting, such as a concert. In that case, it clips pretty bad. Otherwise, it's mono uncompressed audio at 44100Hz, which is pretty good, although it's clear it's not the highest quality mic out there. I'm using a Class 6 Patriot 16GB SDHC card.
To everyone asking about the choppiness, it's your computer, not the card or the camera. It plays back smoothly on my computer and on Youtube for me. Make sure your computer can handle 720p video.
yea, its working perfectly fine here as well. Good result, i'm thinking of purchasing it. I heard it gets some kind of lens error or something. Did you ever face this kind of problem?
Not necessarily YT, it can also be the card used when the vid was shot, you want a card that writes fast when shooting hd. A slow one will deffinetly give you "choppy" vids.
30FPS. How would it not look good except for detail and quality? If it's choppy, it might be your computer or internet connection. 720p video takes a lot of processor power to play.
I see some choppynes too and I can play 1080p files at 25Mb/s easily. I think it's just YouTube flash player not working properly with the encoding of this clip.
Well, it was between the Canon SX200, the Panasonic ZS3/TZ7, and the Samsung HZ10W/WB500, and I bought the Canon, so I think that's your answer. :) But yeah, I preferred the image quality, manual controls and video quality of the SX200. The SX200 cannot zoom or autofocus during filming, but that's not something I do very often. Anyway, you can always stop filming, zoom, and start filming again. And the ZS3 has a problem with focusing during videos, where it will sometimes just go out of focus.
Autofocus is not active during recording. Compare to the Panasonic ZS3, though, this isn't a bad thing, as the focus occasionally hunts around on that camera and goes out of focus.
I have this cam!!!! but I dont know how to get rid off the fucking date stamp

It's a Segway! A self-balancing two wheel scooter type vehicle. A cool idea that never really caught on. :(

Do a YouTube search for "TZ7 night restaurant" for a sample of what the ZS3 (TZ7 in Europe) can do.

how good is it in low light?
evrdrandosity 2 years ago
Probably works fine in low light if you leave it on auto mode so it adjusts on its own.

much, much better that the ZS3...

Wow, even the sound is kinda good. Unlike some reviews that said otherwise. What speed class is your card?

Well it's better than nothing IMO. You can still disable zoom and AF in TZ-5/7.
