man. i hope i can come back and visit minny to ride one of these before the are retired. i always liked the HF new flyers better. i like the newer LF new flyers as well but at the same time they look so weak and filmsy. God forbid you're ever involved in an accident in one or it's game over. the HF's to me always looked more imposing and solid. they're built like tanks. on that note the engine sound on these as replaced the '89 to '93 phantoms as my new favorite.
@djJuice5 Yeah I hope you can! Unfortunately the new ones have pretty much replaced these on the 3, 16 and 50 where they used to dominate during the day. However they still come out in force during the rush hours on express routes.
@TheTransitCamera really, that's nice. that reminds me, if you're ever in downtown and you have any free time if you would be so kind as to do a short video on the marquette and 2nd streets during rush hour that would be sweet. but, if you're too busy then that's okay as well.
That's something i'm not sure of! LOL New Flyer allegedly stopped building these in 2004, therefore these and NYC MTA's would be some of the last ones. However Metro Transit has D60HFs 3200 - 3214 which are listed on the roster as 2006. There is a chance the roster has a typo on the year but I doubt it. Anyways I think they stopped production of these after 2006.
