Jolly good, I say. And Brucie-wusie was good enough to donate to the (non-scab) Miners in 84 - So he will always be on my "He's a rather good chap" list.
pity those in the UK buying the soon to be released dvd of this magical concert were not there, the dvd doesnt show everything, It was just an amazing atmosphere i felt like i was there with 50,000 friends totally priceless, shame on those who bought tickets to make a profit., long live the boss and the E streets.
I was there, loved the whole gig, Springsteen is amazing and to open with London Calling (as a Clash fan) I was blown away. But....look at the crowd...at a rough estimate about 85% are complete bloody zombies, more concerned about txting their mates (probably to 'name that tune' because they didn't know it). Have to say it's a worrying trend in gigs, people dont jump around and enjoy themselves anymore.
If in any doubt about the point I'm trying to make compare the crowd at this gigs participation in Sunny Day or Badlands compared to the Barcelona gig. Next time the Boss comes to europe I know where I'm getting tickets for!!
@jas964 I've noticed a lot more of that too...people texting and drinking rather than enjoying the music. I like to refer to that as musical tourism , and it's very irritating.
Only someone with four stripes on his shoulder may command me and I doubt you couldn't dream of becoming an airline captain. In other words saying end of conversation won't win this argument.
I didn't call anyone an idiot, I was asking it as a question because of an misunderstanding. Your response to that makes you socially incompetent. Noramlly you would just explain the correct thing like Outspaced did. You don't call somebody a moron and twat.
This was the first Bruce Springsteen concert I saw, how do you expect me to know what they are shouting.
I know a captain with an IQ of 150+ who as late as last week called me and asked me how you install a sound system. Did I call him an idiot and a twat for being inexperienced?
No, that's what people like you do.
Now, I admit that i was wrong, they are shouting bruce and you were totally right about that part. But your way of saying it is really awkward.
I've been listening to the clash for two weeks and stumbled to this tribute version. Your way of putting this misunderstanind is insanely ignorant. It's like if I would come up to you and say "people have been flying for 100 years and you don't know what makes them lift!"
Are you living in your own world believing that everyone know what you know?
wish I could have been there. I got shivers during the "cause London is drowning and I live by the river" part. thank you for uploading :) good sound!
I WAS THERE! and what a gig he played the man is a legend and so is the E Streets. After this masterpiece he played badlands then outlaw pete and the crowd went nuts and this carried on for over 3 hours Hail the boss.
oh oh oh oh Aye i did , and having seen him and the E streets at glastonbury on tv , i thought he put in a better performance at hyde park i thoughly enjoyed myself there, and so did the other 50 thousand. The performance was one of a kind . I especially liked him performing dancing in the dark just before the sun had gone down proper the crowd were excellent and i met some new friends, yahoo happy days.
I think it's a matter of musical taste. I am not to familar with alot of the springsteen songs but I won;t deny the guys energy ans showmanship. i'm a big fan of AC/DC and just thought they rocked wembley and the crowd was awesome.
It's great he did this, we sometimes forget how much the Clash were actually influenced by Springsteen though the fashion police kind of glossed over it at the time. By the way, where is Mrs Springsteen? I didn't see Patti at Glastonbury or here, I hope she's okay.
josemourinho17 patti is back home making sure the teenagers don't burn down the house , as bruce puts it . she usually shows up for spanish shows and dublin, where i'm headed next week. xxx
I've noticed they're always a bit quiet until a few songs in.
Anyway, rather a dull audience than an audience of drunk wankers like the guys behind me shouting "BROOOOOCE!" all through Racing In The Street.. Seriously, when he wants to do a quiet slow song, let him do a fucking quiet slow song.
Ha..wonder if they were related to the drunk ladies in front of me pogoing and whooping through Racing..Anyway on subject of audience I thought the call and responses were quiet:wondered whether it was because it wasn't an enclosed stadium. My favouriteaudience singalongf memory is still Twist and Shout at the Independence Day concert during the BITUSA tour Wembley Stadium..
They'd played this song on a previous date on this tour, so I hoped they would play it at Hyde Park. What a great way to start the gig! Thanks for posting this reminder of a brilliant day.
Great sound!

There is no point in me talking Spanish or French to you..you'll just say I got it off the internet, anyway I'd prefer to HIT YOU in English.

You know I've come across a lot of wierd guys on the internet but you certainly qualify as the worst one.
Not knowing that they were shouting bruce instead of boo makes me inexperienced. The way you talk makes you socially incompetent.

What part of " end of conversation " don't you understand ?
Socially incompetent...you mean like, calling people idiots before you know the facts?
Oh and er...learn to spell properly before you comment.
