It is Mediterranean music, that's why. Different ethnic cultures have mixed there for tens of centuries. Jewish culture specifically had exceptionally flourishing period in Morocco and Spain before the inquisition, no matter what those Ashkenazis are trying to convince the people in the States and Israel.
It's the American Jewish propaganda machine which denies any mutual or common in heritage and culture between the so called Arabs (Most North Africans are Berbers to be exact and have had their own culture and language before the integration with the Arabs and Islam). This Azkhenazi propaganda is to serve and justify the hostile policies against Palestinians in politics maneuvering the rhetoric to Islam and Arabs in general: creating an enemy in order to build an unified identity.

Maybe some elite Ashkenazim don't like the close former relationship between Sephardim and Arabs or Berbers, all people of the same Book and closely connected culturally across the Mediterranean...but you must realize that most Ashkenazim don't know or give a fuck...don't paint all European Jews as these depraved monsters hatching plans. I never painted such painting. I gave you my honest observation when called upon it. To underline my point further, what I have personally experienced, there is a clear difference in the mentality of the American and European Ashkenazis in general, even we wouldn't want to generalize too much. For some, no matter which culture or "ethnicity" they represent, war is purely a tool to access and obtain money and power. But like I said, I do think there is more to it than just that.
