My guitar looks kind of mismatched too with the pickup bobbins. I have a Seymour Duncan neck and a DiMarzio in the bridge.

I just bought a new Les Paul 1960 Classic, 2008 made, and the pickups are great! Sounds better than my 1997 Standard in fact.

The nasally tone of out of the out of phase pickups sounds quite like Money for Nothing imo. Knopfler used a cocked wah for that though.
