i wish these races were broadcasted in america with english commentators, these are the cooles touring cars in the world without a doubt, just look at that gt-r or hsv, even the lexus is pretty cool. way cooler than boxy 4-door dtm cars and slow btcc cars haha

Because the body was light, RX-7 stopped the pit only of refueling without exchanging tires.

@ommarwin It was a steering failure, the team said. The right-front wheel didn't react to the driver's handling, and the car just went straight to the barrier. Not a driving error.

@ommarwin And as for the tires, that was a "No-tire-changing strategy" they adopt from time to time.

1.The SUPER-GT regulation prohibits to do tire changing and refueling simultaneously.

2.The Maximum of two mechanics can change the tires(so it's quite time-consuming).

3.It takes much longer to refuel The "7" than the other cars (coz she got a fuel-eating monster on board!). So, they try to save as much time as possible by skipping tire changing when the situation allows them to do so.

@ommarwin And the strategy also has the advantage of not having slow out-laps on the cold tires.

You can see in the video, at 6:50, the ADVAN(YOKOHAMA) guy check the tires, then give the thumbs-up sign. The team had prepared a new set of tires just in case, but didn' use them.

Well, it seemed the strategy was working untill…

honda hsv was lucky to win? it states on the screen clearly after the race 11 SECONDS away from the 2nd place sc430. you go drive that sc430 if you thought the victory was all down to luck kid.

wow, the HSV is in another league!! 11sec gap between 1st and 2nd? Unbelieveable. This GT season belongs to the HSV as long as the drivers can keep it on the track. The other machines don't really stand a chance. 2011 will hopefully bring all the GT500 machines up to the performance level of the HSV.

@socamoto Just to be fair with Orime(The RX-7 driver), according to RE Amemiya's blog, their RX-7 had a suspension failure on the right side. The driver did steer but the car just couldn't turn. That was the cause of the accident.

Congrads to Team Weider Honda HSV for the first win for their new car. Serves them right for the robbed win for the first race! As for the GTR teams were definately a tough race for them all definately needs more pace and perhaps a wrong tire choice for Team Nismo cause Team Impul using Bridgestone is still king for this race when compared with Advan and Michelin brand tires for all. As for Lexus SC430 were the only cars that was close to the pace setting Honda HSV
