1 The US had been bombing Iraq for 10 years and the sanctions imposed caused the deaths of 1 million people half of them children!These are UNICEF figures.
2 The continuing support of Israel in its collective punishment of the Palestinians for the last 40 years.
State sponsored terrorism from the US is the problem and if they stop committing crimes it will reduce the backlash yes.

Afghanistan is too big and the local population are hostile, they give cover to the taliban and supply them with information about the western soldiers movement and strength. Supply convoys are coming under attack from Pakistan into Afghanistan and there is nothing they can do about it. The soviets suffered the same fate. It is time to give up and go home. I'm from the US originally, and I have to say the Royale Marines, SAS and SBS are way better than Delta Force, US Marines and any other. They all have yearly competitions and excercises whereby the Brits always come out on top. They have a more affirmative nature, no natter. Also, they've got a sense of humour.

A few years back there was an example, joint US and RM attack on some Taliban, US dealt with it their way, a rolling barrage up the mountain. The RM CO was less than impressed and couldn't understand why they didn't let them (The RM's) in 'amongst it'. The rolling barrage succeded in giving the taliban cover to get away in the end.

The taliban will have their men in the police, army and they will know a lot about the movements of the foreign invaders just as it was in Vietnam. 1 The US had been bombing Iraq for 10 years and the sanctions imposed caused the deaths of 1 million people half of them children!These are UNICEF figures.
2 The continuing support of Israel in its collective punishment of the Palestinians for the last 40 years.
State sponsored terrorism from the US is the problem and if they stop committing crimes it will reduce the backlash yes.

Supply convoys are coming under attack from Pakistan into Afghanistan and there is nothing they can do about it. The soviets suffered the same fate. It is time to give up and go home. I'm from the US originally, and I have to say the Royale Marines, SAS and SBS are way better than Delta Force, US Marines and any other. They all have yearly competitions and excercises whereby the Brits always come out on top. They have a more affirmative nature, no natter. Also, they've got a sense of humour.

too right. the uk is a small country, and cant afford to have a military the size of the US, so it maintains a small specilized force. I have no doubt our SAS are as well trained as their US equivalents. isnt it great we are mates and on the same side!! we will need each other when the gooks rise up!

People are argueing that they are the world's best trained soldiers. In terms of logistics and equipment, US army tops. The UK gov is trying to fight these wars on a peacetime budget and is constantly cutting defense spending- the armed forces suffer from it..

You Brits talk alot of shit. Your own General Dannet says its a disaster in Afghanistan he says the RAF is useless. I know that British troops are very disciplined and tough but your politicians will never give the number of bodies the Afhgans ,Iraqi's or the Irish will for victory and that is your weakness. c1, your comment is a classic example on how we differ,bombing the fcuk out of people doesn't always work. A few years back there was an example, joint US and RM attack on some Taliban, US dealt with it their way, a rolling barrage up the mountain. The RM CO was less than impressed and couldn't understand why they didn't let them (The RM's) in 'amongst it'. The rolling barrage succeded in giving the taliban cover to get away in the end.

Coszz, Afghans won first time because some brits switched sides, Afghans won against soviet union because the west sent in black ops and funded the rebel fighters and the third time the taliban (not afghans, taliban arnt human) know because they are getting slaughtered in open fights that they cant win that way so they resort to suicide bombings. Coszz is not a from USA guys.
