Underage marriage was once neccesary due to a lack of medical care (ie..vaccines, antibiotics...). Most people would die off before the age of 30. A 12 yr old was considered old enough to join the Revolutionary War due to this fact. And a 19 yr old, unmarried female was considered an old maid during those times. But times have changed. Education is a big part of why it's illegal to marry a minor, as well. Who are you asking to educate themselves? Are you serious?

Are YOU serious? People had to marry off earlier in the Chesapeake times. If you've ever read a history book, you'd know that was far before the mormonism that later evolved to FDLS (the sect of mormonism that practices polygamy). Unfortunately, note of your points are valid. As unfortunate as that, the people who have been posting are not generalizing, this is what happens in polygamous counties. Older men basically rape their daughters and have sex with more than one woman.

This is what happens all over, not just in polygamous families. I don't support polygamy, incest, rape or molestation. But I DO support the right to freedom of religion. And I do support the right to decide a mate, or mates (for that matter) between consentual ADULTS. I don't believe in targeting a group of people just based on their religious beliefs. A pedophile is a pedophile. You'll find them just as easily outside of the FDLS.

If people only knew how hard that is; OH wait maybe they do, that's why they all have a 70% divorce rate and all their screwed up kids are in jail.
Yet POLYGENIST kids always have one mom at home and one mom to take them to practice, and one mom to cook and clean for them, no wonder they always win the National spelling Bee Championships !!

Oh yes. There's SO much which happens in these polygamous communities which many people don't know about. Surprisingly, no one seems to be listening to the ex-member like Jane Blackmore (Winston's ex-first wife), Flora Jessop, Carolyn Jessop, Elissa and Kassandra Wall, Teressa Wall Blackmore, Caroline Cooke or Susan Ray Schmidt.
The Canadian Government should've gone Mugabe on these people years aog!

Let me clear something up. While I may e from Barbados, I'm not black, I'm a person of mixed race and I'm anything but a racial supremacist.
White holocaust? Which one? There only seem to be black holocausts in Africa no thanks to Eurpeans. I do not like the FLDS because of their practices and because polygamy is a very unhealthy lifestyle.
