  • Do you have a video running it on WVO?

  • @FrenchValleyAirport It's winter & wvo appreciates cold about as much as Dave lol, but come Spring (ours is unfortunately 6 weeks later than most but Fall is milder thru Thanksgiving.) I get on it. I also need to rig a 15 Gal drum I picked up to serve as the tank, but may rig up a gerry can.

  • That's clean! My diesel land rover oil is black after the first start from a change!

  • @Pyroman1990 Could be the piston rings allowing blow by or perhaps lofty under hood temps due to the 'ole redline for a good time scenario

  • @Pyroman1990

    Yea, listen to begbucks.

    That condition is normal

  • like the video i have infor for u go to megabear regenerated fuel it has used oil into diesel fuel units $950 looks cool

  • Why is it called Silent? It's not.Can you please tell me why it's called that?

  • @timw1959 It's quieter than comparable models due to it's enclosed case This on is about 68GB vs the others 72 to as high as 80 db.

All things in perspective I suppose.

  • @timw1959 Nearly all generators this size are based on Chinese 186F type engines, they are all clones of the Yanmar L100 whose patent expired some years ago. The parts are generally interchangeable. Anyway, you'll find two styles of this type of generator from various manufacturers; some offer both -- the "open frame" version will have a single muffler and the "silent" version will have two mufflers plus an enclosure. They're both quite loud but the open frame version will always be louder.

  • @artcancro Thank you.

  • @artcancro Thanks as well :)

  • @artcancro Can I ask if I ever needed an injector would the l100 series also work? I ask because I'll be running mainly on alternative fuels & should this issue arise I would like to know it's a some $45 fix.

  • @Begbucks You can search eBay for "186F injector" and find a ton of them. You can also try Aurora Generators who seem to be one of the more reputable online dealers of this style generator; they sell all of the parts as well.

  • @artcancro Oh my; I checked & it's amazing every thing I'd ever need from piston rings to cams & most sellers stating compatibility with the 186 series. I searched before but used keywords "Chinese" or the model of my genny - no luck - You made my Christmas!

  • 15-40 Rotella is great oil. use it in my duramax. also, in my generators.

  • @capecodunderground It sure is, Mobil 1 15-50 is also good. I really like blending it with 5-10% Lucas HD stabilizer.

  • @Begbucks--- thats great oil to, dont really know to much about lucas......

  • @capecodunderground Yeah the Lucas is an add on been using it for years since '02, never going back, it helps seal your piston rings like nothing else. For diesels however the synthetic version should be better since it's non-foaming.

  • That sure is a beast of a Generator, it hardly flinched when you switched the saw on and off. Nice piece of kit, would be a tad too large for me to have and keep at my place, I wouldn't say no to it though... ha ha

  • @Bevoin1970 Indeed she is. It is a bit overkill but since I wanted a conversion to alternative fuel. I was at a loss to find a smaller unit & especially for the money. most are 3700 watts & some 2-3k! rarely preowned.

    So far so good.
