A bright star in the heavens; one star against the backdrop of eternity. One shining example of the human spirit manifest against the blackness of the abyss. Serenity in the wake of chaos. The endless beach of posterity.
MOT has forgotten that we tuned into his vids for his financial perspective on things to come. Lately all the vids have been "feel good" vids. What's up MOT... how about a nugget or two of TRUTH now and then??
Now That's what I'm talking about!! Remember that some of us woke up on the economy because of your vids!! Yeah, Gold hit the roof today. Dollar dropped below 75. Bernanke came out and said they are watching the dollar but don't intend to raise rates for "some time", which I thought was pretty funny because basically that means he is watching the dollar tank. If he really cared, shouldn't he be doing more than watching the dollar crash.
On some inflated smoke and mirrors news that retails sales were up in October driven by car sales. What a crock of crap. Boy there really are some idiots on Wall Street. My guess is that as long as the dollar continues to tank, the market will continue to rise, since it is priced in dollars, to adjust for the loss in value. As you have said before, if you look at the value of the dollar in relation to the market, it is still underpriced.
Some very interesting months ahead. Enjoy the beach!
Ah...yessss....California... the spiritual home of Alger Hiss's draft of the U.N. Charter, Gorbachev's Presidio Foundation, first Local Agenda 21 (sustainable development) initiative in Santa Cruz.
Okay, now I am boasting, but this is a direction we all must research at one time in our life. Where do I come from; and where am I heading? From a spiritual stance, I'd say we are a product of forces beyond our comprehension. What Great Spirit is to us may determine our fate
I discovered that I come from 4, possibly 5 signers:Hale, Hall, and maybe Clark directly, and Stockton and Wolcott by way of marriages by two of my g g aunts.
I carry the independent genes as well as the free spirit.
We're not just about genes. Spirit is a subtle and enigmatic force that permeates our being. Certain places seem to draw these things to us, but in reality they come from within us. Soldiers discover these things by the "way of the warrior"; but there are other paths. You are correct, in that groups stifle spirit and drown creativity and reason. The "individual" must have their "place"-- their "Walden".
See, it is so obvious that we are related. My great great great grandmother was a Hall-- that line is directly descended all the way back to Earl Fitzwilliam, who was seated at Greatford Hall in Lincolnshire, after the Norman Conquest. The younger son was named "Hall"-- Arthur Hall 1090 A.D. You are nobility, sir!
A correction: Frances Lewis was a signer, not Hale. Nathan Hale was a Yale grad. and a Revolutionary War hero. My mother was a Lewis( Meriwether Lewis and William Clark). Not sure about how far back we are connected to the Clarks yet. There was a Meriwether Clark Lewis in her family.
Great grandmother was a Kinzie(Hale,Hall). Dad's middle name was "Nelson" and I find a Thomas Nelson as an additional signer. I heard that dad (Nelson) was a family name. I could possibly have 6 signers...
I have an interesting story about Benjamin Hall's wife, my great great great grandmother-- Margaret McKenzie Kinzie Hall. My great great great grandfather Hale married their daughter, and my great great grandfather Kinzie married their grand daughter.
Great great great grandmother Margaret's sister Elizabeth married a Clark. I don't know yet if they go back to Abraham Clark of New Jersey, but my cousins are from there. Still researching.
Just thought I would add a bit of zen-ness to the mix. Glad to know others can understand the heights and depths of the spirit-- the infinitely small and the infinitely massive.
Hope you can suggest a Northern Cali get-together.
A spiritual experience? C'mon mot. Stop thanking 'god' and bimbamboozling the guys that believed in your earlier, accurate, relative posts... Stick a crab in G4T's trunks and deliver us some more economic guruness. If you turn religious on the YT masses, at least half will miss the point. Even worse - the original 1st half will abandon hope.
u mean more like most would stop listening to him because he believes in god and there hate for that far out weighs logic and reason? do i need to expand on this?
Indeed. That would be cool. I've had spiritual experiences by going from one demographic area working and then working in another(from the suburbs to the ghetto back and forth). My most memorable spiritual experience was a particular day jogging to the top of a mountain in South Korea, though. Days like those seem to be behind me now with mortgage, family, work, and all. :(
I had the strangest dream last night, suddenly the whole city was shut down with severe shortage of food with everyone trying to buy off the last left over food in grocery stores and I was like ahhh should have listened to MOT and stocked up on food! I mean its like we think about it and we brush it off because you're like I'm sure it wouldn't be THAT bad but then if it is anything like it was in my dream, people are going to wish they listened to you,if they didn't onlywhen its already too late
@vintagethought I'm sure not all hippies are/were commies, just the liberals, not to be confused with libertarians. I've never been to California myself, and I've been around the world. One day, maybe before it falls into the Pacific.
what i said was a generalization but does go for the majority. the gay movement stomped on crosses and pushed around an old lady when we voted against gay marriage and a burglar that fell through a skylite and broke his leg sued the homeowner and won. dont get me wrong there are alot of good people there, i was born and raised and u should visit, beautiful areas, but dont expect to beable to defend yourself, and if you do, know that u will go to jail and your assailant will walk. god bless
and hippies do have a socialist or commie point of view. doesnt make them bad people they just dont believe in free market competition....if i'm wrong please explain, this is just my observation
ahhh..i actually dont know...i just dont like to judge people untill i meet them or see their actions.
example...met a latvian guy a while ago who was a reformed commie after the ussr fell and he became a good friend and he had a good heart just a different idea politically. plus hippies are all about love and peace and helping eachother out...they just dont produce much..doesnt make you bad..does it?
Mot, when I heard you say you were going to the beach and go for a swim, I recognized that ambition from your Mexico trip. Yeh, your going to the beach but your not going in. Alittle colder than you thought eh? Nice to see you appreciating the coast , take care Mot.
It looks beautiful MOT :) I have never seen the ocean :( Been stuck in the middle of this continent of ours most of my life. Living on and loving the prairies. Raising my family. I have seen the rockies though and they are beautiful. But never got to the west coast. Some day when I have more time for myself. I will go see the ocean. :)
Nice video. I think you would really enjoy Port Aransas Beach (north padre island basically) if your ever in South Tejas. Waters warmer! Kalifornia such a great state. Ruined by poor spending and legal habits.
I don't see how people decide to live in these places. I live in Wisconsin and I hate it, especially being from southern Louisiana. The misses is from here, so I'm stuck.
Beaches everywhere are pretty nice... Cali beaches, Oregon beaches, Florida beaches, Texas beaches, North Carolina beaches, the beaches of Southern Spain - I've been to a few. I prefer the deserted, quiet beaches. Stopped at a gorgeous one on Penang Island some years ago, and another on Pulau Tioman, and spent many years walking the beaches in Alaska. God's work is so very evident where the land meets the oceans...
I lived in southern Cali a long time ago. MOT, you should check out a beach just south of Laguana Beach.. it was called Thousand Steps back in the day cos you had to take all these stairs to get to it. Absolutely beautiful!
Thanks for the reminder of the beauty of the ocean and of God that lives in each of us.

Wow. I must say, California has the weather. It's freezing (feels like it) here in Vancouver Canada. We get that damp cool weather in fall and winter. Hate it. I sure miss Summer and Spring.
I guess you can't take everything away from California. The beauty of the state is just overwhelming. Why did you leave California? Why did you? MOT. This IS your land!!
