  • I attended public schools in Las Vegas in the 70's and it was commonly used in the classrooms. I'd say "most" of my teachers used it, but not all. I think the ones that used it were easily frustrated, and used it as an excuse to discipline. In "my personal opinion" those particular teachers weren't very good teachers anyway, and probably shouldn't have been teachers to begin with.

  • Hi Paula,

Great Video! Time to stop the practice of spanking but we need to offer parents a support system to help correct children early and in the neighborhood. Involved neighbors speak up when children agressive. Neighbors are great mentors too. Check out my website, videos (new ones coming up) and I have a speakers bureau.

  • Please read the first five pages of the GAO, ACLU and UC Davis Law review linked to the top of our Home page, The Hitting Stops Here dot Commmmm for up to date conditions of American school abuse.

    Thank you,

  • Paula, You are still an amazing woman. I am so happy you are still out there for our kids. The credentialing committee has decided to suspend the special ed teacher that physically abused Mia for 14 days. As soon as we receive a copy of the cell phone video from a 14 yr old boy that video'd an aid screaming at Mia in January, I will forward it to you. The family is reluctant to share it as they are afraid their son will be the one punished for taking the video

  • @KimberlyPruett

    Hi Kim,

14 days is so sad because your daughter's life has been changed forever from what her teacher did in physically abusing her. I know she was a gentle child before and now she is acting out what happened to her. I do pray that the experience will fade and that she will restored to the gentleness that everyone who knows her remembers.

    Please give her my love.

    Paula
