i'm from UK and have distinction in grade 8, played with BBC Phill, National festival Orches, Leeds chamber Orches.. you are terrible.. Please don't post anymore vids..
jesus,, you are terrible..so from this video anyone can just pick up a bow and play??? 70% of playing the violin is understaning how to HOLD the bow and the reasons why....
This is the weirdest bow hold I have ever seen. The fingers are definitely spread too far apart. Like mentioned in the comments previously, this causes the hand to be too stiff. The bow hand needs to be soft.
Thank you for your videos. I'm new at the violin, so aside from having lessons from my teacher, I try to utilize free online resources. Many big thanks! :) My bow bounces at times, how do I refrain my bow from bouncing?
@claudiacloclo2 Having a bit of space between the fingers on the bow allows for equal pressure of the bow on the strings. As for her fingers on her other hand, she's not using those yet. She was simply showing how to use the bow.
@AnnaCful Replying to your comment. Sorry for having written such a rude comment however, I must disagree with you on that. Having your fingers closer together, it allows your nuckles to be more flexible as a group this way, putting your nuckles down, allows you to feel the strings more. if you spread the fingers they become too stiff. A bit of space is good but what you do is too much ..So, What you are saying is total nosense.
Thank you very much! I'm very interested in learning

@claudiacloclo2
Claudia - maybe you know something about violins, but you don't know how to spell. It's "knuckles", not "nuckles" !!!!

You need to improve your bow grip... It's too much on the tip of the fingers. It's very tense the way you hold it.

@egonfmattos Actually, she's holding the bow correctly. I would know; I've taken violin lessons from a violinist who plays in our local symphony.
