  • The song is Around us by Jonsi

I mean I much prefer the Cecile corbel music, but the music playing here is pretty sweet!

  • arietty sounds like a brat here.

  • @bananian

why can't michelle ruff voice her? Also, why are the lines changed?

  • I cant wait to see this. Iv always liked studio ghibli

  • I don't know why people are compalining about Disney. They've been releasing Studio Gibli films for 20 years I now I think it is and Ponyo's two main characters were the younger siblings of disney stars so I don't see what the problem is.

  • I heard Bridget Mendler was in Arriety but I've only seen the UK one so I was GUTTED!

  • Why does Disney always cast Disney Channel stars for these Ghibli films? It doesn't make me angry, but it just makes me kinda raise an eyebrow at Disney, knowing they just want my money. (I mean a little Jonna's was cast in Ponyo...)

  • I can't stand seeing the disney thing at the beginning Dx lmfao xD can't wait to see it tho.

  • his voice is so nice :]

can't wait for this movie! :D

  • Yesterday I was wodering when another film would come out. Go to the movies today, there one is on a poster. So cool. God Bless this film.

  • Studio Ghibli has been an insperatrional and wonderful throughout my life. Ive learnt how to draw and how to write fantastic peices thanks so all the herd workers that create and write these films. I am looking forward to watching this film, So i can someday become like Hayo Miyazaki and many other successfull artists in Studio Ghibli.

  • (...continued)

Thus Studio Ghibli continues to make amazing and beautiful, well-rendered animated works of art with the help of the Disney backing them.

Disney only promote and have rights to this. They have little involvement in these animation-wise, this movie is as incredible as the previous ones. Why fix what isn't broke and all that.

  • I'm not sure why I hear people complaining that Disney are involved.

As far as the films go, they're still in the hands on Studio Ghibli. I know there are a few purists out there who prefer the original Japanese versions of these films, but surely you can appreciate that all Disney do is dub over with the voices of a few well known actors.

If it weren't for Disney promoting it, not nearly half the people who enjoy these films today would have even heard of these masterpieces.

  • is that the last movie?

  • This movie is just like thumblina

  • @bluebelt1235 is based of the borrowers actually.

  • This movie I gotta see

  • it's made by Studio Ghibli

  • There's no way disney made this movie :D that's bullshit, anime and disney are two individual things xD both are good but disney...made an anime movie?? LOL?! unbelievable

  • @Shial2005vsInu no Studio Ghibli made the movie Disney has the rights to it

  • @Narutogal314 WHY?!

  • @darkbeetlebot Because Disney brings in MILLIONS of viewers. I don't see why it's a big deal it's still an awesome movie Disney or no Disney.

  • @Narutogal314 well, I guess, but they could have at least not given the voice acting over to disney stars, that was a huge mistake. an even bigger mistake than not showing the ghibli studios label.

  • @darkbeetlebot They did give credit to Studio Ghibli in the trailer and the movie posters have the Ghibli logo on it. Plus the main girl in Spirited Away was voice by a Disney star.

  • @Narutogal314 huh...I must have missed something.

  • Bug-Sized People: Check

    Awesome Anime Artstyle: Check

    Epic win ratio:100000000

Seems like a keeper to me...

  • disney presents.....ou.....what?

  • According to Wikipedia, Arrietty's parents are voiced by Amy Poehler from Parks and Recreation and Will Arnett from Arrested Development! I don't care what you say, the dub is now completely justified.

  • I'm not even an anime fan and I really want to see this

  • Saw this in theaters and nearly flipped out X3

  • catbus flashbacks with the cat...

  • I don't understand why people complain about the animation. Yes, they might not (mostly) use as many drawings per second as a Disney film, but the backgrounds are often a lot more detailed than the Disney movies, and the runtimes are usually longer, meaning the frame rate is 'spread out'.

  • @StrifeTriggerDude People have every right to state that anime is superior. as I believe it to be, just as you have every right to disagree. If a film somehow surpasses Studio Ghibli, I'll clap of course, but I'll still believe in Miyazaki's gift of storytelling and producing art out of an animated film.

  • anyone know the song starting at: 00:47 with the vocals at 1:01

    Love the movie btw ;)

  • @StrifeTriggerDude Ah, but you said "they can cut costs by going around and doing it the easy way.." meaning cheap. Cheap as in gaudy, inferior, budget, meaning not art. Your argument has been invalid from the start because of your false accusations of "limited facial expressions, mouth movements, and overall body movements.." you haven't even watched anime yet you spew madness about its lack of depth. Are you serious? If any cartoon lacks those traits it's American cartoons.

  • @StrifeTriggerDude I'm not even going to bother with this petty argument. If you don't believe that anime is art, then you obviously haven't truly watched anime, therefore you have no grounds to stand on in this conflict.

  • Get the fuck over it people, Disney had nothing to do with the actual production of the film, they have just dubbed it for release in America. If it's really that big a deal go watch the Japanese version which is already out!

  • some you are so stupid it's sad, THIS IS NOT THE 1ST DISNEY ANIME FILM. for example....any of u here of the Disney movie Ponyo?? NO?? it shown in theaters ,but u asswholes where to busy pre-judging it to even give it a glance. Ponyo made ranked in little funds so it was considered under rated.

  • Ok, I know this is going to make me sound like an anime geek but here goes. The Walt Disney Company has purchased the rights to all of Ghibli's products that did not already have international distribution. The position of Studio Ghibli president is currently held by Koji Hoshino (former president of Walt Disney Japan).

By the way, Goro Miyazaki's next film is rumored to be a movie titles "From Up on Poppy Hil." If anyone has info on a date of release, I would appreciate it!

  • LOL a dad eaten by the cat XD

  • This reminds me of Howl's moving castle! The boy talks exactly like howl :)

  • is there the japanese version of this anime..??

  • spoiler alert? i watched the movie in jap and this trailer shows to much!

  • this looks like Hayao Miyazaki`s work...id didnt catch his name in the trailer...but if he didnt do this then disney def stole stuff-.-

  • @StrifeTriggerDude not true, anime has more depth than "cartoons" it IS different from other forms of animation >:(

  • Hm....kind of dissapointed that instead of an original idea they put a new spin on the book and late 90's movie "The Borrowers", but it still looks pretty good. Hopefully it's better than ponyo :/ I still <3 you Studio Ghibli.

  • @squareenixfreak1 ponyo was meant for a young audience and even Howl's Moving Castle was based on a book :P

  • anime>cartoon

  • Disney used to make miracles like Lion King and Tarzan , movies that even my kids will grow up watching...This is crap. At least its not some gay 15 year old singer show....

  • @KroVey this is not "crap", this is made by Studio Ghibli so I'm convinced that it will be art like its other pieces, Disney is merely publishing the movie not creating it, so don't link your Disney ideals to Studio Ghibli-they're two different things! >:(

  • @KroVey Disney didn't make this, they just own Ghibli. I must say that is really harsh, they work very hard at such glorious movies. Not only that but Ghibli has their own anime style. So of course it's looks more "chubby" like.

  • @redpunkkirby108 : Disney does not own Studio Ghibli. Studio Ghibli is just like Disney with their own artworks and movies. And to publish it in the US you mean? They are more then capable of Publishing their own movies just as you have said that they have their own japanese actors and voices actresses. In which I don't understand where in one post you would say that Disney owns them and then in the next you say they are working together..? In my understanding they are two different things...

  • @redpunkkirby108 I didnt knew that but still , this is a remake of a very old movie called the burroewers or something , its not their idea. Also its not their "own" anime style its exactly the same with Miyazaki's style. If i havent read the comments here i would be like "why is miyazaki remaking an old american movie O.o" Ofc this is logical cause , after all , its anime style. Anime style has a standar pattern of making things so they are not to be blamed for style stealing or anything.

  • it looks like ponyo

  • @edwinelmejor08 well they're both made by Studio Ghibli lol

  • lol

  • Cualquier movie de Ghibli debe verse en JAPONES!!!

  • This is a remake of the Borrowers.

  • From the animators who brought us Spirited Away and Ponyo... SDJKHFSKJDHFSKJDFHSKJDF. That is all.

  • oh common guys...ghibli makes brilliant movies since a while...disney just wants to do everything now they can get...so a co-production i guess

  • if they falll in love how would they "you know"

  • @Nfinite13 They will "masturbate" together :D

  • @Nfinite13 masturbate and then drop the sperm in her u know what

  • from disney? lol

  • So, there are little people living under the floor. The mother gets kidnapped. They do a lot of shit and find the mother. Why do I have to watch the film now?

  • @Ididnthaveaname

We live and then we die, why do we live? cuz it's the progress that we enjoy dude :) Enjoy it!

  • Studio Ghibli si que hacen buenas peliculas de anime que me gustan mucho.

  • la pulgarsita de disney

    Jajajaja ;)

  • Disney dont!!!!

    get your hands off!

  • this movie reminds me of some other movie that was made from disney

  • OUUU COME ON!

disney keep your hands off my lovely anime >.<

    now!

  • im ecstatic that ghibli studios is getting bigger and bigger :) but i hope that they wont change too much. keep up the good work

  • NAME OF THE SONG!!

  • Disney has taken everything... my home my life my family. I only had one thing left... which was anime... and now diesney has taken it... DANG YOU DISNEY!

  • Okay, nevermind. I posted that comment right before I saw it say "From the animators of Spirited Away and Ponyo". Haha! My bad.

  • It looks like Spirited Away animation.

  • wtf i thought this was world of warcraft ??

  • Das ist kein disney film! der film ist aus japan!

  • Disney is only distributing it for the United States. They didn't have anything to do with it's production.

  • @DJenerationT Its*

  • lol disney makes animes o.O

  • @nintendosims1994

No, they're just distributing this film for the U.S. :)

  • FUCK YOU WALT DISNEY! Don't fuck up my favourite Anime Studio! YOu are the biggest moneyloving assholes I've ever seen. DIE BITCHES, DIIEE!

  • AMERICAN ANIME WTF,let hope it'll be a good combination

  • This is wrong.......

  • WHAT. DISNEY STOP TAKING MY STUDIO GHIBI. THE HELL ;n;!!!!!!!!!

  • @Holkerzu They're not taking. They simply work together. You see the original owners who make the movie have Japanese voice actors and actresses. They need English voice actors and actresses, more crew, and publish the movie. Disney doesn't take it, but they do put their name in it since the do dub it.:D

  • NAME OF THE SONG!

  • ohh... so this story originated from Japan then

  • Lol?!

  • I guess, they're starting to realize... that Anime's (style) is the best form of animation there is!

  • @53flsatq

    If done properly...

  • @53flsatq True that. This anime seems awesome. :D

  • @53flsatq Lmao the anime style is the best form of animation? Try "easiest" and maybe "cheapest"....

  • @53flsatq If you're gonna be a pretentious ignorant dick then at least spell "Animé" right. Fuckwit.

  • @53flsatq Its ok, but i wouldn't want everything anime.

  • a Disney... "Anime"?

  • @53flsatq Disney buy the animes from Studio Ghibi! ;)

  • @53flsatq Disney has always taken Studio Ghibli, Inc., Hayao Miyazaki's films and dubbed them into English. They have a partnership with them. It is not the first anime film they have dubbed. They also did My Neighbor Totoro, Castle in the Sky, Howls Moving Castle Spirited Away, Kiki's Delivery Service, Ponyo, Princess Mononoke, probably more, not in this order though.

  • @53flsatq yeah strangs... First i thougth that was the Japanese who made it!

  • @53flsatq sounds intresting doesn't it?

  • @53flsatq This isn't new for them... Ponyo ring any bells?

  • @53flsatq Disney has teamed up with Studio Ghibli from Japan.

  • @Miyavisgirl1540 You should really look them up! They've got some GREAT movies! ^^!!
