I honestly cannot say enough good about this series. Lately I've grown really cynical of anime, after having finally caught on to the cliches. I've just grown tired of it, honestly. But this....this is something else. It's so unique, fresh, beautiful, haunting...it's unlike anything I've ever seen. Like, it's hard to describe...just like mushi, I guess.
I'm going to forget for a second that he was able to put a needle through a GLASS eye and just say that I've seen countless anime and I must say that for the first time (when that girl opened her eyes and that liquid came out and went up) I was truely creeped out
that snake thing is cool. like those firework things... that was gross, the ocean of the moshi from her eyes... why did he make them go back? why don't he empty the mohsi out of her eyes? i know he had the snake so what? is it cured without the snake or there is more creatures there? and that wave all at once, he's out to miss a few... lmao...
it's like how you dream, how you meditate... studies show they know there are two kinds of dreaming... deep sleep dreaming and slighlty asleep dreaming... Called slow-wave sleep and rapid eye movement (REM) sleep when I got myself to meditate, on own, i close eyes and block out all images but you can imagine a new small image. there's that point you see all black before it too.
Was any one else sad when they watched all the episodes this was the best anime i have ever seen if you have netflix watch it there better quality but show is amazing

This anime is so interesting... i don't kno what else to say. It's like it lets your imagination flow, you become engrossed in seeing how these "Mushi" are connected to the world around. The story is so well thought out as well, not to mention the visuals are so refined and beautiful. Funimation did a good job on the dub as well, thumbs up to the leader in dubbing anime!

The second eyelid...This whole topic brings to mind an isolation tank. Check out this video from Joe Rogan, the comedian. He has a bit where he lets the audience choose the topic. In this video he has a serious talk about the isolation talk for the first 2:15 seconds. Listen to it and tell me its not "closing your second eye" talk.
How come everyone says that Ginko only has one eye (like at 7:25 in this episode, and it is mentioned in other episodes), but at 14:40 he clearly has two eyes?
I do that all the time actually. Sometimes I write a comment and then realize as soon as I post it that someone wrote the exact same thing in the comment below me. =P
I feel so relaxed after watching even one of these episodes. The storyline is brilliant and the detail poured into the art made it have that sort of mystical dream-like aspect to it. I know I was hooked after watching just one episode! Defintely recomended!!

My roommate loves anime and let me borrow these dvds one week, and I was just beyond baked with medical marijuana, recently unemployed, not a care int he world, loving this show. Once again, I find myself collecting unemployment with a bong full of dank kush and aching to see these episodes. so soothing and relaxing i could fall asleep watching this.
Sae has vestigial remnants called "nictitating membranes" (i.e. second eyelids) that fish, lizards and all birds have. Rabbits, camels, cats and other mammals still have them.
This is gonna sound weird but I think Mushishi is like what would happen if Hayao Miyazaki and the writers of House MD worked together...
Still, you can't really compare this anime with anything else. It's just above and beyond so many others. It's the kind of thing you can watch around people who hate anime and they would still get sucked into the story.

God, i love this show, each episode is so interesting. The plot is extraordinary. It combines fantasy, horror, drama, and a little bit of comedy into one amazing show.

In particular Light of the Eyelid has shown that Ginko makes use of his knowledge of dealing with Mushi to help someone that has been afflicted by Mushi.
That's so strange I'm no doctor but when you completely lose all of your eye sight you'll never get it back but when that guy put the glass eye in that girl I'm a little surprised cuz you can't just do in real life so easily for everybodys eyes there's many connections and nerve endings if those are damaged or disconnected then you can never see again.
have you seen the manga? this was actually the best story by a long shot. Unlike the other stories, the creator based this one on modern times and ginko's clothes were diffrent.
btw this was the one that won the award for the creatory :)
@Trussy1000 Well sure anything is possible, but I don't think ghosts exist, what that person says she is seeing is MOST likely her(?) own hallucinations. Although I see it perfectly plausible that they are angels, or demons. Not ghosts, but I do believe spirits are a huge possibility. I guess you only look at the surface too.
@Trussy1000 Didn't mean that in a bad way, just the fact that you saw my post as destroying all possibilities, rather than just the possibility of ghosts(human spirits) if people see real ghosts I believe they are more than likely demons imitating a human soul. I think she(?) is lying, albeit unintentional due to ignorance(I might be ignorant as well, maybe ghosts really do exist).
@CrazyMonkey124 I see where you're coming from It's pretty hard to trust anyone who comments on youtube anyway XD. Though I wouldn't say ghosts of people are demon's imitating. after all the concept of demon's is pretty knew in the history of the world it was created in Christianity as a way of conveying evil spirits. But that's not to say that they aren't there either. The problem that that has created is; most people are scared of ghosts :/ Nothing to fear from them really (I study them alot)
@Trussy1000 Well I study ghosts a bit, that's how I found mushishi, but fundamentally, I believe ghosts to be something completely different from what people think they are in most cases. Demons aren't as new as Christianity, though. But like you said, not gonna trust anyone like that.
@CrazyMonkey124 Yeah, I like how people have different beliefs, that's what makes the world what it is, would be boring otherwise. I think I believe that there are several and billions of spirits and ghosts are just the ones that can get into contact with us a bit more than others
Trussy1000 Hum I wounder to my self quite often why human beings just can communicate with spirits I mean if the spirit realm exist then why can't we communicate with them. When we die and assuming we become a spirit then we have the opportunity to speak with other spirits then why can't we speak to them while where in human form. That's so strange I'm no doctor but when you completely lose all of your eye sight you'll never get it back but when that guy put the glass eye in that girl I'm a little surprised cuz you can't just do in real life so easily for everybodys eyes there's many connections and nerve endings if those are damaged or disconnected then you can never see again.

have you seen the manga? this was actually the best story by a long shot. Unlike the other stories, the creator based this one on modern times and ginko's clothes were diffrent.
btw this was the one that won the award for the creatory :)

@Trussy1000 Well sure anything is possible, but I don't think ghosts exist, what that person says she is seeing is MOST likely her(?) own hallucinations. Although I see it perfectly plausible that they are angels, or demons. Not ghosts, but I do believe spirits are a huge possibility. I guess you only look at the surface too.

@Trussy1000 Didn't mean that in a bad way, just the fact that you saw my post as destroying all possibilities, rather than just the possibility of ghosts(human spirits) if people see real ghosts I believe they are more than likely demons imitating a human soul. I think she(?) is lying, albeit unintentional due to ignorance(I might be ignorant as well, maybe ghosts really do exist).

@CrazyMonkey124 I see where you're coming from It's pretty hard to trust anyone who comments on youtube anyway XD. Though I wouldn't say ghosts of people are demon's imitating. after all the concept of demon's is pretty knew in the history of the world it was created in Christianity as a way of conveying evil spirits. But that's not to say that they aren't there either. The problem that that has created is; most people are scared of ghosts :/ Nothing to fear from them really (I study them alot)

@Trussy1000 Well I study ghosts a bit, that's how I found mushishi, but fundamentally, I believe ghosts to be something completely different from what people think they are in most cases. Demons aren't as new as Christianity, though. But like you said, not gonna trust anyone like that.

@CrazyMonkey124 Yeah, I like how people have different beliefs, that's what makes the world what it is, would be boring otherwise. I think I believe that there are several and billions of spirits and ghosts are just the ones that can get into contact with us a bit more than others

Trussy1000 Hum I wounder to my self quite often why human beings just can communicate with spirits I mean if the spirit realm exist then why can't we communicate with them. When we die and assuming we become a spirit then we have the opportunity to speak with other spirits then why can't we speak to them while where in human form. Just what the hell is lord Jehovah thinking, and what difference do we have to spirits other then our living flesh?

kenslee50 If you can see them then prove it, however I do believe some exceptional people can see into the spirit realm but if you can't prove it then people are gonna think your crazy no offence them but still. It's a damn shame everyone can't see spirits my self included I'm pissed.
