why is it they never demonstrate a purposeful task? as in a mission to flip a switch, or get an item, they most of the time do weird demonstrations such as walking in circles? why not demonstrate the capabilities in a purposeful way this is not a rant but a suggestion
What you don't realize is that walking in circles, tipping over boxes, and most especially traversing loose terrain ARE purposeful demonstrations.
You, yourself, could not flip a switch or get an item if you could not stand, use your feet, identify a wall, or bend your elbows.
AI is in its infancy, and as more of these programmers discover more functionality, things like getting the robot to move around will be masteries, not experiments, and the bots can begin doing more useful things.

teach it to flip back over if it's on its back, spiders and crabs can do this and I think this bot could too.

I like what they did with the sound.
It's very creative and artistic. Not necessarily technically accurate, but definitely more valuable than a simple audio recording of the actual robot.
