@homuskis I don't think he is enlightened but he seems to be a very dedicated monk and I'm sure he's well on the path. Unfortunately though, I hear that enlightened monks do not really have much interest in telling people that they are enlightened.

Q1:Are monks build all these caves and buildings or other workers?
Q2: Was the snake poisonous or not and what is your transport to the village ?
1) Monks are not allowed to dig the earth or cut trees , but monks help lay people to build these huts and buildings.
2) There are poisonous snakes , But these monks develop unconditional love for the snakes so the snakes do not harm the monks. To get a good example please listen to "Thanissaro Bhikkhu -Quality of Metta " at AudioDharma.
sri lanka has a great weather all year around. All the expenses are donations by people like you and me. May you be Virtuous, n follow N.E.P
