  • What happens if you change out both elements and check all the power is good to both elements ,but still no hot water ? both elements are 3000 watts at 240 volt .I relpaced them with the same wattage and voltage elements .although they were a different style of element than the one's I took out ,does that matter ? HELP PLEASE

  • hey just warning you that new element of yours is a stainless steel element, and although looking at your old elements you dont have very hard water, but here if you used that it will last forever and do a good job but once it finally does go bad you wont be able to get it out because it is so encased with lime which pretty much ruins the tank, also might be careful telling people to use 4500 w elements because even if the heater says to use them if your wiring in at least #10 its unsafe

  • don't you leave the valve on top open until the tank fills up so the air pressure is relieved ?

  • I just followed your instructions step by step and everything went perfectly. Thanks so much for posting this video. You made my life a little better. :)

  • i dont have one of those tools to take it off, what do i do?

  • @CurtJames93 just use a large socket that fit good it do the same as the tool.

  • @CurtJames93 easy :-) just get a mm ruler or measuring tape and measure the bolt that screws into the hot water heater in mm flat side to flat side. That is the size of mm socket you need. The socket of that size is probably only going to be found in a 1/2 drive so make sure you have a 1/2 ratchet as well.

  • @CurtJames93 a phillips screwdriver and on a normal WH a "inch and a half" sized socket with a 1/2 drive and a 1/2 in ratchet will do the job

  • bravooo

  • Excellent simple step-by-step video..not like another video by a plumber who takes 20 mins but does not show the actual replacement of the elements! Thanks.

  • Thx very simple explanation. Did you use a tester to know that the one element was bad
