If you want a professional flat iron and you are ok with spending around $140 I would highly recommend the Karmin G3 Salon Pro, it heats up to 450f with temperature control, dual voltage, tourmaline ceramic plates with rounded edges which makes it great for also curling your hair. Also has a 3 year warranty. If you do look at other irons make sure to stay away from irons with painted plates (colored plates) these can damage your hair.

if you buy the ghd from sephora it's a life time warranty so if it does break or whatever then you can get a new one. That's sephora's policy regardless if the ghd says it has one year warranty or whatever. Sephora will always take them back. :)

Hi. Good review! The only negative reviewers on folica.com say that this GHD lasted about a year (or less), which is a shame because it is quite expensive.... but everything else about this flat iron seems to be great, so I'm wondering how it's lasted for you, since you've had it about almost a year. I have the same type of hair as you do. I've always used the Chi, and I love it, but it is also so damaging. Is the GHD still pretty damaging? Also do you know if it'll work with a converter in another country. My Chi stopped working when I tried to use it in Germany. Then after it stopped working, I read that it wasn't made to work in another country, not even with a converter.

A ghd is on my Christmas list this year! But I sooo don't want to wait that long! I have this crappy "wet2straight" iron now, I have curly hair and it does not work at all, I've used it with all sorts or redken products but it still makes my hair frizzy and burnt and nasty looking/smelling ERRR I never want to use it again!, I wish Christmas would hurry the heck along and be here so I don't have to deal with this anymore! @drskaterette well of course it would damge your hair on it's own. you would have to get heat protect serum. Ghd makes but it's a little expensive so TRESemee would work fine. Ghds would only burn your hair if you used them for too long.

@hollistergurlly I've been ordering from folica for about 4 years now and never ran into that issue or had a bad experience. they guarantee all products are real on their website. you can call GHD and give them the serial number when you receive it if you are really worried- but i registered mine with no problems and if it was fake you wouldnt be able to.

I think you can use it that way but it works best for me after. I dont suggest using it after if you have fine or oily hair. This works perfect as a finishing touch/styling/shine product for me afterwards
