No offence Gunners but Chamakh is not good enough to be in a club like Arsenal. His finnishes are so poor, even against this team on the vid you can see his poor ways. I hope Hazard and Yann m´villa comes and strenghten this squad.
@Arsehel Sure but wouldnt you like that midfield to be strenghten? Hazard has a more central role, he is no winger like Walcott, and Yann is just a force in the midfield. Question wich striker the team will go after
Everyone talks about his defensive ability but he also has great stamina, great vision, and good distribution and technique. To be honest he sort of reminds me of Wilshere in the way that he plays.
@CallMeEmaxe I'm serious, he works hard, wins important challenges, and makes crucial passes in the final third and in buildup play, just like Jack does. He definitely at least has the potential to be as good as Wilshere was last season (though Wilshere will continue to improve and obviously be much better)
@bbguy17 Yes I agree but Wilshere is just playing there because of wenger. Wilshere prefer a "Frabregas.role" if you watch his performances in the reserves and also in Bolton I think.
Having Coqueline-Frimpong-Wilshere in the same midfield will destroy many opponents imo Perhaps not now but in a couple of years.
@CallMeEmaxe I know he used to play behind the striker (IE Fabregas) and also on the wing but he actually said he prefers where he plays because he can see more of the pitch and his passing outlets, not to mention he enjoys the physical aspect of the game. I think he should stay where he is because he dictates the tempo while Ramsey or maybe a better playmaker can provide final balls.Maybe hell take the Cesc route and play higher as he matures, cesc started pretty deep too
@bbguy17 true, but coquelin has more agression and more skill to pass a defender. like in 0:53. I see a great future with Frimpong, Wilshere, Coquelin, Chamberlain, Van Persie, Koscielny, Sceszny, Vermaelen, Sagna, Gibbs, Gervinho, Arteta, Walcott. Master-Team.
@Arsehel Jack beats his man too, without tricks though Coquelin left that defender stumbling haha. I think that Frimps,Jack, and him would be epic since they all run hard and are good defensively but also have decent skills on the ball, just like Man City last year with Toure,De Jong, and Barry/Milner
@bbguy17 Yeah, i know but i think wilshere should score more goals. I can't even remember his last one... even if he has the oppurtunity he tries to through pass it to someone else, it's frustrating.
@Arsehel His last one was a diving header vs Aton Villa, quite nice actually. He's like Cesc at first, afraid to shoot. His job is to create though, I feel like he'll start scoring soon.
the key is to hold on to players like this in the future (coquelin, frimpong, wilshere, ramsey, AOC, and afobe) and then arsenal will have a bright future
I hope vela gets a chance again. He could be rvp's understudy. Chamakh isnt cutting it, park may go war, Rvp may need rest. We need to petition for Vela
we have 9 midfielders and we start with only 3.. i like d competition coz it bring out d best in everyone. 3 AMF benayoun arteta rosicky 3 DM's song coquelin frimpong & 3 CM's wilshere diaby ramsey... pick ur best from each category. lol i go with wilshere, arteta & song :)
@gmanakadezil Yeah remember that Wilshere can play also at DM especially in a defensive formation like last season against Barca 1st leg we had 2 holding midfielders Song and Wilshire and Wilshire got man of the match.
@thewesleys11 Plus Arteta, Rosicky n Benayoun are like 30, so I think we need 1 more proper AMF in the mould of Fabregas say Eriksen, Gotze, Gourcuff, Martin
I think it was a much better game by arsenal than the one against blackburn . Really exciting youngsters at the club its the present thats a little worrying .
Dont know whether its just me but this kid Coquelin runs a bit like wilshere and is all action just like him :D Again gr8 vid CWD
Instead of comparing Coquelin and Frimpong why dont we play them both and go back to 442, remember we have had Vieira-Petit, Vieira-Gilberto, Vieira-Edu, Cesc-Flamini. very successful midfield duos over the years.
Coquelin is calmer and more technically gifted than Frimpong, but Frimpong has that terrier kind of feel to him. It's down to the opposition to see who's better, I'd imagine Frimpong would be better suited at somewhere like Stoke, and Coquelin would be better against other top teams who pass the ball around.
To be honest he should be ahead of ramsey soon if he keeps this up. Our best mid at the moment is probably song-coquelin-arteta. Then when wilshere eventually comes back song-arteta-wilshere, with coquelin, ramsey, and frimpong on bench.
Okay, it's "only" Shrewsbury" but somehow this kinda performance reminds me of a certain Spanish kid name Francesc Fabregas a few years back.
The only difference now is who will be those young players mentors? Cesc has Vieira to look up for, I just hope Arteta influence will somehow bring some positives in those players performance in the coming months.
hey just wondering who is who at 8:51 on this video and 7:56 of the Chamberlain video. I know they look similar from that far away, just pointing that out.
Stop knocking Djourou, support him. He was fairly solid last year when vermaelen was out, this year his confidence and mental awareness is lacking but he's still better than squillaci/silvestere/sendeross!!!!
@HugeArsenalFan1 Not at all. We're beginning to play an attacking 4-2-4 with two Defensive/Box-to-Box midfielders and two attacking wingers. These two will become the future double pivot in rotation with Wilshere and Ramsey.
Seems as if Coquelin can play the Denilson role. He has a good eye for a pass and his defensive abilities seem on point.. would be surprised not to see him playing more as the season progresses or next season
People need to stop comparing our players and putting down the others, they grow together and whoever becomes better and deserves it gets the opportunity;
We play with 3 mid-fielders:
1 DM - Song, Frimpong
1 BOX TO BOX - Wilshere, Coquelin, Lansbury, Diaby, Denilson
@gmanakadezil Once Diaby gets a run of games he is an absolute class act. He would easily be 2nd choice ahead of Coquelin (who i really like) if not challenging Wilshere for 1st choice. It's such a shame he is so injury prone he could have become a truly great player (it is quite a familiar story :( ).
@gmanakadezil I can't agree more. We have the most fickle fans in the world, but the media don't help at all the Sun especially who jump on Arsenals back and push for Arsene to be sacked at every given oportunity.
@gtemp2008 Funny you mention the sun, I was just reading the article they put up about Arsenal ONLY selling 46,000 seats for the Carling Cup match emphasising on the empty seats,
Even doe that was still the highest attendance for every other match this week and the last apart from the Man U vs Chelsea
Man City 1st champions league match - 44,000+, Chelsea vs Leverkusen - 33,000+
But yet the sun are talking about us selling less tickets in a match against a league 2 side no offence to shrewsbury
this guy looks like a major talent, he seems composed, has great vision, a good work rate, his technique is beautiful and i love his willingness to make up for a mistake an example would be the 70 yard dash and the closing down of the free kick, if he can put that kind of effort into every game he plays he will be magic
Why are people comparing Coquelin and Frimpong? They don't play the same position. Frimpong is assured at what he does i.e. Sitting in front of the back four, winning the ball back and passing it on. Coquelin is more box to box, intercepting passes and starting attacks. If anything, I wish Alex Song sat back more like Frimpong. He leaves the back four exposed a lot when he runs all over the place.
@LostFaceify They aren't fighting for the same position. Frimpong is a back up to song as a defensive midfielder while Coquelin is fighting to be Jack's back up in the box-to-box role.
He does remind me of wilshere in that they have this freedom to their play where they can do things which others wouldnt, you dont know what to expect but can also be tidy like that pass outside of the boot, whilst also he has a great engine and passing ability. Frimpong, OX, Coquelin, Jack, Aaron, Ryo that really is a good looking midfield for the future.
Good video, I think coquelin has what it takes to make it at arsenal. Much more composed on the ball and better technically than frimpong, I think that will make the difference.
Is Coquelin deceptively strong? I mean his physique is a lot similar to Denilson's but even against a tough, physical opposition it didnt look like he was out muscled. coquelin and chamberlain were so good this game. Shrewsbury isnt the best of opponents but its not difficult to see that theyre both close to the first 11. I think chamberlain already this season will take walcott's spot. Coquelin looked better than frimpong and should be considered backup for song
chamberlain wilshere miyachi conquelin afobe ! DAMN we got a bright future

Coquelin can play in both the DM n CM positions,
Wilshere, Ramsey can play in both the CM n AMF positions,
Rosicky, Arteta, Benayoun can play in both the AMF n CM positions
Diaby can fill in at DM
Song can play DM, CM, n CB lOOL his got 1 goal n 3 assist this season am sure he can play AMF as well lol

coquelin and chamberlain were so good this game. Shrewsbury isnt the best of opponents but its not difficult to see that theyre both close to the first 11. I think chamberlain already this season will take walcott's spot. Coquelin looked better than frimpong and should be considered backup for song

@JonnyeWest Totally agree. + Coquelin won't be playing in the African Nations so the balance of the team would not be disrupted.
