I had my doubts about Sammy until I saw him last month live. But I am a believer 110% now. Idc what anyone says, Sammy and the Wabos kick ass. Plain and simple. Their a great live act and the energy they put out was unbelivable.

No, he didn't get tossed. From what I heard he and Mike were concerned about Ed's drinking and Ed got all pissed....Sam offered to let Mike tour with him to make some dough, again Ed got pissed then ousted both.

As for the music it's a cover from something else (played in sports arenas all over, can't remember the title though) The lyrics are a tribute to MEX. In case you didn't know, he almost single handedly made Cabo san lucas a tourist spot.

Sambo got fired in'96 & tossed after the 04 Trainwreck Tour man! The 04 Tour was also the LAST time that Michael Anthony was in VH as Ed made him sign off as their bass player...pretty cold! I missed Mikey on the 07/08 tour but I sure as hell didn't miss his live, boring ass bass solos! The Halen 07/08 Tour with Roth put the 04 Tour with Sambo to SHAME man!! Ed was sober,in top form and they sounded GREAT! Also, Halen music with Roth has aged so much better than Van Gaygar music to me man!

I was there, just to the right of this vid in fact, great concert although I almost felt like I was selling out because I had only seen Van Halen before that. But hell Sam and Mike were there, and played much tighter than they did with the brothers in 04. Thanks for the vid.
