Lose the hard cases and your alarms can never be turned off, Lose the reciever and you will never hear a run, no sensitivity, no sound, no tone control, 3 silent alarms and a receiver, crap idea if you ask me lol... My fox mmxr set has been going donkeys years now and looks the nuts but i also love gardner tlb stainless alarms which work equally as well under water.Anyway i just dont like the idea of silent alarms, hard case being the on off switch and everything relying on the one receiver.
i've had delkims for over twenty years they never missed a beat the 9v battery lasts forever i only replaced them for the new style delkims so i could have the night light function but i would recomend the attx remote receiver system cheaper than the delkim route i have had freinds with cheaper alarms namley the fox warrior alarm and they have had the buttons stick and the line wheel freeze in the winter
what wi all the arguing ?? i paid £20 each for my alarms and they work just as good as all these fancy things ! save ya money and spend it on quality line hooks and bait after all once a fish is hooked any alarm will sound , the fish dont care what alarms you have ! it wont make them come to your swim instead of mine , but they do notice cheap set ups under water and shun cheap crap baits , so spend ya money where it counts ,
Guy's there is only one bite alarm that's completly waterproof/resistent and that's good old dutch Knuckle head's. In my favorite carp specialist shop they had these alarms in a tank with water for a few years, algy started growing on them, and they still worked perfectly!!. Battery last for ages cause they only use power when they go off. Unfortunally they don't look as slik as Fox or Delkim. Check out there internet site!!.
fox alarms last for ever mate. Ive had fox m the first ones for Donkeys years and also own 3 blue fox mx alarms and they have been through everything you can imagine over the last god knows how long to. They are Loud and crisp sounding, great in wind, cant find a better alarm myself.
Delks are good. But what I don't get about these is there is no on/off switch so that's got to be a pain in the arse if you have your receiver switched on in the bivvy and want switch one of the alarms off for whatever reason. I spose there must be ways around it.
Incorrect. Try using quality batteries not 20 for a £1 from a pound shop. Many shops sell batteries that have been sitting on the shelf for months sometimes years. I have had an ATT receiver switched on for at least 14 days continous without any problem. It takes 1 AA battery, hardly an expensive replacement when required.
Wrong. All my friends who have had them have stuck them on ebay and got delks. Wake up and smell the coffee mate please note the +4 against my original comment ;)
These nonsense tests really do make me laugh. Why on earth would I want to put my bite alarms in a jar of water? The other thing is hasnt all this been done before? I can guarantee you now that My old Delkim optonic conversions have been in the lake more times than a duck and yes when they came out they still worked!! Ohhh and unlike those little novelty items mine will still be going strong in another 30 years and those things will be in a hole ( a bit like me)
Why would you want to do this, well we have proof as to why. An angler fishing the River Chelmer in Essex this weekend woke up in the morning to find his alarms under water. Ihave photgraphic proof if you want it. I doubt VERY much your Optonics would still function fully under water for any period of time. All alarms can take a dip in water, left to dry out they often function again for some time . I would like to see you put your Optonics under water and see them function fully whilst under.
I never said they were 100% watertight ? Placing an alarm completely in water was in fact pointless and just proved that the stupid amongst us could go to sleep by a river and allow flood water to engulf our swim but be confident that the alarms (if found) would still work.!!! As they say rgrifle "the biggest catch in angling , is the angler" So you go and waste your money on these pointless novelties and I will go fishing...(with my not 100% watertight BUT waterproof Delkim optonic alarms!)
I promise you rgrifle, That the original optonic bite alarm with sounder box is head and shoulders above any other alarm I have used... They offer the specimen hunter an alarm that is completely resistance free and I guarantee will never let you down. They are superb and the fact that a large ammount are sold on ebay is testament to the fact that quality never fades even though the gold lettering has! Get yourself on EBAY and buy a set of alarms that were there at the start of carp fishing ????
It appears your trying to sound clever but infact you sound like a real ol moron.lol
Placing the alarms in water is pointless, unless your trying to show how water tight in the rain they would be, ay, derrr.
Your comments are pointless if anything here is !
Although i use fox and not ATTS i know there a good bit of kit, and it seems your the one waisting money converting crusty ol' optonic by delkim into modern day wannabe's. Just get a new set numpt, getwivdaprogram!
Thanks for your comments. I can tell by the way you haven't thrown a load of F**Ks into me that you are an intelligent fella. I particularly liked your 'getwivdaprogram' line (LOL). I have a company called Beamer-PB and we specialise in pushing forward the design and development of fishing tackle (especially stainless products). If you go onto my profile you can watch some of my product videos. My Products are hitting the shops next season and are already used across Europe.
@hollowedhead IGNORANCE IS BLISS AY! NUMPTY. Its just a demo of how water tight they are for water ingrees from rain ! No, any sensible angler shouldnt be having there alarms get submerged at anytime for any reason.
Yet you say your crusty old optonic delkim converts have been in the lake moretimes than a duck??? WTF??? What kind of angler are you, a lame one by the sound of it. LOL.
Get with the times or take up fly fishing ! And stop dunking your alarms numpty! who does that???
This season I lost a Salmon on the River Lune of approx 32lb and enjoy all codes of fishing. The best fish I have ever caught is a 8lb 4oz Eel which took me three seasons to eventually tempt (a fish of a lifetime!)
My point with the ATTS alarms is that some things you would expect from a product!
Being able to keep operating when it's raining is one and yes my optonics have taken a few duckings (accidentally dropped) Cheers The Numpty
Yes the TLB can do this but they are a lot bigger and you would require an ATT ATTX V2 Receiver for them to be remote, which would need a dongle that goes in the jack plug socket on the TLB. Therefore although the TLB is waterproof it would not operate as the ATTs does underwater ,due to the dongle on the ATTX system not being waterpoof.
I dont fancy a silent alarm only hearing from receiver but am bored of my fox eos-r set and receiver etc as the box is massive that it all goes in so im floggin the whole set as new for 200.00 if anyone wants it. I love the look of the tlb alarms but what are they like mate do you know? I only ask as i know no one who has them and cant try before i buy you know.
Gardner tlb can do this, not sure for how long tho but they are meant to work fine under water. Duno about linking to receiver either but i expect so. I wouldnt know as i have fox eos-r alarms at the moment.
The wheel was rolling and the sounder didn't pick up. Is this because the radio signal does not escape from the water? Is the other part waterproof too?
There is NO delay between the wheel spinning and the receiver making a sound but on YOUTUBE it is out of sync due to this site. The products both work in time when used . The receiver is not waterproof and the radio signal escapes from the water without any problem. There is a better video available and I will post a link for this later.

The on off switch is built into the hard case cover. So all you do is put the cover over the alarm you are not using and its OFF. Simple.
