  • Kolkata ta boudi der ghar marbo

  • KOLKATA WAS ONCE RICH IN CULTURE

    KOLKATA HAS NO CULTURE NOW.

WHAT KOLKATA HAS NOW IS TOO MUCH POLITICS, UNEMPLOYMENT AND LAZINESS.

  • KOLKATA TE AIKHON KEECHU HI NEYI

  • Great summary of Kolkata. As some one who visited many years ago it brings back great memories of the khub sundor city.

  • gotta be the ugliest city in all of india.

  • i fact i wnan share kolkata is ow the fastest growing city in whole south east asia region

  • Bangladesh's contribution to India's GDP ?What a joke..Does it even exist apart from its geographical existence? It just has a geographical existence and nothing else . Oh yes ..how can we all forget...that country contributes significantly and actively to the spread of terrorism across the globe...breeding ground of terrorism...

  • Terrorism did not originate from Bangladesh.... that's ur misconception. Terrorism didn't start from any specific country..... it was just a bunch of crazed, narrow minded so called human beings who decided that they would start killing people unneccessarily. It has nothing to do with Bangladesh in particular. Terrorists come from all corners of the globe & from all different religious groups..... no offence to ANYONE but I have learnt through experience that there is gud & bad in everything

  • People from Kolkata :once upon a time you were bengali and now being part of India you guys remain silent of everything that India is doing against Bangladesh ,your root,

I am telling about Farakka Dam which is built at Dinajpur and drys up all the downstream of bangladesh where almost 60 million people live on River Padma(Ganga),so Dadara do something for us your parents are creating another dam at Tipaimukh at the north eastrn region to dry up our Meghna river now..

    Dont remain silent !

  • According to international laws, without the consent of the downstream river nation and causing environmental damage no one country can control the multi-nation rivers alone. But the sad fact is that India did not care for these international laws.

India has done huge favor to Bangladesh in the past..but this is something that must be stopped

  • the favors that India did in liberation war it was truly for herself,if u see the growth of India u will see that India first saw significant growth after 1971 and now on we have huge trade deficiency and lots of other dispute ..may be u know that Phensydyle is smuggled to BD each year worth almost 10 Billion US dollar believe it or not..and dam?well ,remember India is also in downstream to some other countries:))so as u .....so u ...may b in future

  • smuggling of Phensydyle is something that you cannot blame it on India..both countries are equally responsible in protecting their borders.

There might have been some benefits to India after making Bangladesh independent, but this contributed very less to India's growth..btw ..we have lost soldiers too.

My entire ancestral family had to literally run from BD. My cousins being so good in studies had to come India bcos of racism.

In 1971 IND cud have done lot more with BD unlike PAK.

  • yeah thats what you can say!! check the gdp data of India after of 50 years then you can see the contribution of Bangladesh in India's development!!

and well I could say a lot but leaving for you what disparity is India causing regarding all our rivers now as if u guys build the rivers as well, and Well ,so you have done us a favor not acting like what the Pak did !!!! yes thats what ur mentality is!!

  • If you say GDP growth of India is because of BD, I cannot believe any statements made by you on the dam as well.

Its not just Pak..any other country cud have taken lot more advantage.

you say "People from Kolkata :once upon a time you were bengali..."

We are still very much bengali..we still support BD even in a cricket match against any other country..but we dont really enjoy remembering our roots..because all we found is racism in it..and the pain of escaping leaving everything behind.

  • @himalay7 dont generalize and give false claims about kolkatans, kolkatans support INDIA,i am a bengali from kolkata, and around 100% kolkatans support INDIA,we cant even think about other country, just because we are bengali doesnt mean we would support some country called bangladesh!!

  • @INDIANG19 When did I say kolkatans do not support India? I feel my self very lucky to be born in India, ths doesnt mean I close my eyes is something wrong happening from our people. Please read all my comments carefully before coming to any conclusion. As far as cricket is concerned I always support weaker team, except when India is playing. I have lived in almost all parts of india, that makes me easy to guess ppl from which zone generalize others the most. and u wont like to know that

  • @himalay7 why did u generalize as kolkatans supporting bangladesh or something, that was like a surprise,we never ever supported or will ever support any other country other than india

  • @INDIANG19 First of all I dint say/mean it anywhere. Can you show point to any of my comments that says/mean "Kolkatans support bangladesh".

Second, I think you are generalizing things saying "we never ever supported or will ever support any other country other than india". Supporting/helping other countries does not mean you betray your country. As an Kolkatan/Indian it should be in your blood.

I dont prefer to comment back any more, you should be smart enough to understand by now.

  • @INDIANG19 I always thought West Bengal bengalis are like our brothers! But if you think like this.... who gives a fuck you spineless coward. I am originally from Bangladesh. Do you know you looser... I have noticed every other Indians take a piss out of you people.... We don't need a lotaghoti bengali like you.

  • @barlekha1971 and life in general

  • Respond to this video... @INDIANG19 I always thought West Bengal bengalis are like our brothers! But if you think like this.... who gives a fuck you spineless coward. I am originally from Bangladesh. Do you know you looser... I have noticed every other Indians take a piss out of you people.... We don't need a lotaghoti bengali like you.

  • @barlekha1971 lolz.. STFU.. u dnt knw shit.. economy, literacy rate..develoment of kolkata is way higher than the whole of dhaka.. and the biggest joke was every other indians taking a piss out of us.. proves u dnt knw shit abt anything.. we are a country of diverse culture..every culture may have a feeling of superiority tad bit,but when it comes to india,we are united.. so stop comparing us and YOU and stop living in fool's paradise

  • @Shahriarsajib during the partition the jute mills were in and arund kolkata while the jute plantations were in present B'Desh. apart from that i dont know the gdp equation if any. bhaia, tumi ki bolle ta bojha gelo na.

  • India's real GDP growth has raised after Bangladesh's liberation, TATA ,HINO etc their first market was Bangladesh ,there were no one but BD to buy their pdct at the begning, there are plenty examples ....any way even today India dnt allow lots of products to India...in Water ,because of India we are flooded every year and losing huge loss ....the farakka Dam is in Kolkata people dont bother to say anything against it ...BD is the last resort of Bangla

  • No country does favour to another country for charity. It is always for the benefit of itself. India liberating Bangladesh is no different. But there were cultural reasons also giving rise to sympathy. So it was not completely self interest.

  • @UglyBanglaJingoScum :))) I think we should take over the eatern part of India , other wise we should claim back the Bihar, Urishsha ,Asham and West bengal which were in part of Original Bengal if you have any knowledge regarding history ....India should cooperate more with BD as its time to cooperate not to suck a country one sideway to gain mutual benefit for all ..

  • @Shahriarsajib

Can't you parochial jokers pronounce a single non-Bengali name correctly? What are "Urishsha" and "Asham"?

Who'se "we" BTW? Historically when were these regions a "part" of Bengal, except briefly during the British time?

  • @Shahriarsajib this is called heights of ungratefulness

  • Good video verasfilms... it was nostalgic... one quick qn... what music is that @ and arounf 5:10? You have used this one for New Market... Lovely! Could you please tell me the name?

  • its a real good one u see..especially for someone who is from kolkata and missing its watter puddle streets...

  • Just saying: Baba Nam Kevalam.

  • eww its like a mofosal city in bangladesh

compare to dhaka ,kolkata is like a village

  • sorry mate but you have to admit, kolkata is richer and better built than dhaka. its true

  • tht means u never been to dhaka

  • kolkatta economy is double of Dhaka

source : Foreign policy magazine US

  • sorry, not built by u guys ,built mostly by your British lords!!sorry if I hurt you but you also admit the truth ,i know its hard !!

  • British masters to be more precise .. Hindians make good slaves soon they b the slaves 2 the Chinese, the next imperial masters LOL

  • @TanjongTiram yeah lol.... that was a great joke. thanks for sharing joke mizo.

  • @Shahriarsajib as if british was NOT ur lord?lol....

  • @Shahriarsajib And dhaka was built completely out of scratch?...well if u insist...the british built a lot of the subcontinent....don't worry man, im not from india...iv been to dhaka and kolkata though... its not that dhaka is bad, its a really nice place, its just it was easier to find branded things in kolkata..

  • @neolithic9 kolkata is older, check south kolkata for change, moreover kolkata economy is way better than dhaka...LOL....

  • @INDIANG19 really? kolkata was founded by the british benia 2/300 yrs ago . dhaka is like 1000 yrs old.

  • @neolithic9 who said this to u?? the city of kolkata which was the capital of india was called a city around 300 years ago,but dhaka didnt even have the buildings in,kolkata has more number of old buildings than dhaka!!

  • @INDIANG19

KOLKATA IS A SLUM CITY FULL OF POLITICS

  • @IAMTHERUSTYNAIL .. lolz.. ur IGNORANT..just like most Dhakans

  • @INDIANG19

I AM IN KOLKATA. I SEE THAT KOLKATA IS IN PATHETIC CONDITION BECAUSE OF THAT FUCKING CPIM PARTY FOR 34 YEARS. BLOODY CPIM AND BASTARD JYOTHI BASU

  • @neolithic9 ur clearly out of ur mind

  • (Continuation from previous comments)

The negative stuff about Cal is that there is no order or discipline, many areas stink to high heaven and during rush hour, it pandamonium personified and kind of unsafe with no traffic lights, stop signs, pedestrians walking all over the place like cows etc. The place seriously needs better organization and control. Its just like a huge village and people love to spout but will take no action. I still like it though (just to visit).

  • I was born and grew up in Calcutta, lived there till I was 30,(I dislike the Kolkata renaming shit, Cal will always be Cal), It certainly has its charm but it was sometimes frustrating to live there, hence I immigrated to NYC, US where things are more orderly.

Strangely enough, New York has some similarities to Cal, in the sense of it being a multicultural metropolis. There are even parts of NY, like downtown Broadway which remind me of Cal,because of the buildings, railings and twisty streets.

  • i was born in kolkata and lived there till i was 6 years old, but its weird how i feel like a foreigner watching this. it all seems new to me

  • short but excellent video. i am going to calcutta this summer and i wanted to show my woman a few clips of calcutta. THIS ONE ROCKED. and did i happen to see my old friend avinash ghosh on here? i am nt sure but if it was - i didnt expect anything less from him. greatg job bro. i am taking my vid cam this time. love to make similar clips on calcutta - lovely city. cheers rohan.

  • Excellent video!!!

I lived there for 2 years and it were the worse of my life.

  • Fuckin bullshit, i am a british indian and days in kolkata are the best days in my life...No matter what happens..

  • I hate to be the one breaking the "lonely Planet"-myth or whatever. Calcutta might be charming while being watched safe at home in front of a computer.

Reality there is, I saw this two weeks ago when I was there, endless amount of poverty, traffic and pollution.

The old colonial building are about the only think well kept in 2008. But exotic, of course it is. Especially the area around Mother Teresa.

Still: I feel sorry for the people there. Truly.

  • I'm glad to see a part of the reality in Kolkata. The foreign media has only narrow informations about The Third World. Thank you!

  • nice effort. a great watch. since you spent some time putting the supers on the screen, you could have shown a bit of night life as well. Kolkata should not be just known for the usual lonely planet pointers - it also has a vibrant pub and bar culture - vibrant live music nights at "someplese else" at Park Hotel. A highly evolved film audience. melting pot of art and intellect. nevertheless a good capsule.

  • Nice video. I'd really love to visit Kolcata now. Wow, what was that kind of 1920s art deco building with all the tables and chairs in it? it looks strange. Nice choice of music too.

  • dude. that was cool.

  • for once in my life i want to fly to kalkutta, but from germany it is very expensive ...and ja gänsebraten das ist suraj hua maddham.

  • es kostet nur ca. 600€ es fliegt eine airline direkt von frankfurt nach kolkata

  • hayre amar mon mathano desh...haire amar..lozz..this song is associated with bangladesh actually

  • i think this is pretty cool but with the real sound from street it would be better and by the way is that the melodie of suraj hua maddam from k3g?

  • i love Colkata , the Queen of Asian Metropoles !

  • What a nice Video, so many thanks!

Please let me know the name of the music album.

  • Enjoyed 'watching' your video. Sounds of Kolkata instead of background music and this video would have come alive. Kolkata is seen, smelt, felt and heard, heard a lot. Sheer 'Decibelity'(being licentious here with this word)is what Kolkata is all about in my opinion. I wish you could have taken Strand road during pick hours all the way to Howrah Station. Then you would have really, really 'heard' Kolkata through millions of its 'voices'- these 'sounds'.

  • pain to see the city hasnt changed after all these years .. still the same chaos..

  • I miss the city! I miss the people! I miss the love! I miss the passion! I miss the life!

  • i'll be going in two weeks, so this video was a great introduction--the most sustained look at Kolkata I've seen yet on here. Thanks a lot!

  • Hmmm.... not bad ... in fact, it is better than "city of joy" and what Spielberg could have done together ... thank you Buddy for sharing this

  • very nice video - Made me nostalgic for the sights and sounds of Cal.

  • Good video & good location shots!

  • get the fuck out u cunt...loser

  • A nice video - thanks for sharing !

  • I have a good friend living in Kolkata, India, and since I don't know much about the city, this video was very helpful for me. Thanks.

  • i miss the city

  • Very nice video, Ive been in India (New Delhi and Bombay) and I also did a video , you can check it out on my page. Greetings :)
