Upcaling all you want, even with those fake "CSI Miami" upscalers, all you end up getting more RESOLUTION which is not the same as DEFINITION. If you uscale a low-res 320p video you still get the same lack of clarity of details (definition), only a much bigger, slower to download and watered-down file that you cannot zoom a bit without getting all blurry.
Remember people: HD stands for High DEFINITION, not High RESOLUTION. Stop believing what you see in CSI Miami. That's a fake show.
can someone in here tell me how to upscale the DVD with hardware acceleration, LOL. I got a ATI Radeon HD 4550, Windows XP, CCC. Playing the DVD with windows media player.
@Kanashto No, it wouldnt. An upscaled DVD just smooths out the edges and fills it up to an HD screen better than most HDTVs can do themselves. My living room TV with built in DVD player tends to upscale movies with action scenes at night time with a lot of digital artifacts, where there are none on the DVD itself.. an upscaled DVD player does it better so it looks good still.
And now it does't matter anymore. Intel is back to kicking AMD's ass with the new Core i5. The 750 costs $196 and it performs roughly 20% faster than the Phenom II X4 965 which costs $240. AMD doesn't hold the crown for best bang-for-buck anymore, and this is coming from an AMD fan. AMD better come out with something better than simply having higher clock speeds and just calling it a day. Kinda reminds me of the days of the Pentium 4 and Netburst, only that now it's AMD.
They'll slash the prices of Phenom II soon, the have to LOL
The Core i3 mobile platform isn't here yet, so these new Athlon/Turion chips will stay competitive for a while :) Plus, these CPU's are never put into high end laptops, chances are these will stay popular in the budget lines of DELL, HP etc. :)
Rumor is 6-Core Istanbul will be tweaked and shoved in an AM3 package for desktops. Phenom II X6 would be pretty awesome :)
There aren't really that many advantages as far as every day computing is concerned for having more cores. The kind of person who is buying computers for the sorts of money that "real" quad core's come in at tend to be gamers, and for gamers almost always a faster dual core is better than a slower clocked quad core.
Umm, yeah? My PS3 does the same thing and it's only $300 dollars. So why get a PC and pay $700 for a PC when you can get a PS3 and upscale DVDs for the low price of only $300?
And why pay $300 dollars for a PS3 when you can build a Gaming PC to play all the games (better gfx than ps3) and go on the internet? You obviously are on the PC commenting on this video so don't hate.
how much do the PC you use NOW cost? around $500 i think?
then add $300 you have used on a console and you got a realy fast gaming rig, that will last atleast 3-4 years, plus cheaper games aka PC versions of console games are like $20 cheaper and you can buy from steam and get FREE updates not those that microsoft forces you to pay
Unknown to you, macs use laptop parts you obviously know, so the cost of parts is more expensive, if you compare an iMac to another all in one PC spec by every single spec, you'd find Macs are not overpriced, they just have a lot of stuff not everybody would use.
Built in wifi, built in 10 watt audio, 24" tft matrix screen, 1920 x 1200 resolution, blue tooth, firewire 800 port. My iMac has 3.06 GHZ Intel Core 2 Duo, 4GB of DDR3 Ram, 1TB HDD, and ATI Radeon HD 4850 with 512MB VRAM. Compare spec by spec to another all in one, not a desktop tower, cause screen is built in to iMac.
waste of money, regardless of if it is an all in one.
What is the point in getting an all in one, you can get a very small M-ATX board and a small (maybe server) case, turn it up and add a screen, and its just a bit bigger and you can save lots of cash.
I don't have time to argue with mac fanboys, so ill just leave..
Why would you bother getting an all in one? You lose the portability of a laptop, it's more expensive than a desktop and you lose both the power and the upgradabilty of a tower.
So?

@bg048 Go to CCC, under Avivo Video, all settings, scroll to the bottom "advanced quality" and check edge enhancement and turn it up.
I'm not sure if it works with WMP though, I use Cyberlink PowerDVD.
PahangDragonbird 1 year ago
say there is dvd quality of that footage and 1080p quality of the footage, the upscaled dvd wouldn't match the original 1080p, right?

The one on the right is clearer and sharper.
The left one is slightly blurry and has some discoloration.

It will arrive in Q3 of 2010. The codename for the 6-core destop part is Thuban.

Ah right, that's too little too late to be honest :/ From what i remember, Intel will be at 32nm by then :/
Hopefully they will get it out faster, as they did with Istanbul Opteron's :)

They are overpriced, explain what is "Different".
What is are the specs in YOUR 2500 dollar "imac", i would like to know if you are actually wasting your cash. I bet you are.
also, where did you get "Laptops" from? Laptops are always overpriced.
