@rovingdesertfox I can sing better then Villazon. That still doesn´t make me an excellent singer, because very many normal men can outperfom Villazon with a minimum of training.

I have two Italian songs, one french, one russian and about ten native songs on my repertoire. I feel like Villazon makes all of us singers get a bad reputation. All PR-No substance. Even Netrebko told that Villazon cracked so much when recording songs it was "unbearable"...

I hope Villazon will soon be forgotten.

His diction is great. But his performance seems over the top. I wish he wouldn't shout the "Dein is mein schoentes lied" and make more gentle like "vweil es allien". But all in all comeing form someone who sing this song, he can sing this song really well. My only issues are with interpretation NOT technique.
