There is no way Heavy Rain could ever be successfully made into a movie, just as I doubt there'd ever be a successful attempt at making a Metal Gear Solid movie. Any attempt would be met with utter failure, because the PLAYER actually makes the game happen, and not vice versa.

@ghostlat dont compare heavy rain which is an already cinematic game to MGS....... heavy rain could be made into a movie just like LOTR was very successfully made into a movie it just takes the right director and alot of money

@Jafs lotr were good movies cause it only had one plot line. this story theres multiple ones. and with mgs there is way to much informmation and the information is actually vital

@Jafs I agree out of those 2 games HR is the only one that can translate into a movie very well. Cause the creator treated the game exactly as how we see it and that is that it feels like a movie. I know there will be characters that won't appear in the upcoming HR movie which is not titled as just RAIN. but as long as they keep the core characters and the emotional tale of a father struggling to not just save his son but at the same time seek personal redemption.

@Jafs And MGS the reason that won't work is cause the story can be confusing enough with the story that it already has. now imagine cutting plot to fit a 2hr 30min movie it would piss people off so they would have to change the story alot which will piss us MGS fans and lose out collective shit. HR will work cause their are movies out there that are already similar to it (SAW 3, Seven, Gone Baby Gone.).

@FalloutSammy It's impossible to make a movie out of this game. There are too many possibilities and too many choices - do we want a good ending or a bad ending, do we want all the characters to live at the end, or so some (if not all) die, do we want Ethan and Mad together, do we want the Origami Killer caught, etc. - that the story cannot be given proper justice.

@nofxmike06 I've never seen that movie... I'm referring to having the characters you play make the choices you want them to make, and their ending being effected accordingly. You can't make choices in a movie theater, destroying the whole point of the story.

@nofxmike06 That movie didn't have multiple storylines, at least not in the way Heavy Rain did. "Go" had one storyline, but multiple points of view.

@MrBlackBlunt Im sorry but if they did it would be terrible. Take Resident Evil for instance. Resident Evil was a great game series. When they made a movie out of it, it was terrible. I would not want this game to be a movie, unless if it was done by a BIG time movie company.

@Ghats212 Leave it up to Hollywood to screw up great things! They're on a 30-year life cycle anyways with all of these remakes of re-do's of remakes. It makes me sick to my stomach when I hear about game-movie transitions because the movie NEVER captures the same mood as the game.

@carparts8382 that is true but usually they never capture the mood because they hire no talent screen writers to do it and sometimes dumb director's (Paul Anderson & Uwe Boll) think they can make it there own. But Heavy Rain is getting a screen writer that used to write alot of episodes for The Shield and Dead wood and those shows were praised for their excellent writing. Heavy rain just might have a chance yet New Line supporting it unlike most production studios would do to a game.
