its really informative lecture but 1 thing i want 2 mention tht 1 more reason of epilepsy is a person who awake in sleep when he is unconcecious me and my cousin have a same problem

It won't actually kill you. Like other commenters have said, unless you're in a dangerous situation where you have a seizure, i.e.swimming where you can drown or you hit your head on a table, that could give you a severe concussion or worse, it really can't do you much harm physically unless you're in an enviromental situation that will harm you or your seizure lasts too long. The worse i've ever gotten were bruises on my head and a welt on my tongue. But i've been seizure free for 2yrs. now.

Epilepsy kills as many if not more people then breast cancer each year yet breast cancer gets 5x more funding then Epilepsy and Epilepsy has been known of since the beginning of mankind (officially biblical times)

1) 2% of deaths in high-income countries are due to breast cancer.

2) 0.8% of people get epilepsy.

3) Epilepsy can't kill you, unless you injure yourself whilst having a seizure or endure a generalised or complex-partial seizure for over 30 minutes resulting in brain damage. (Extremely rare)

Thus I'm afraid it doesn't kill "as many if not more people than breast cancer each year".

Gosh...I would have been titled "demon possed" if I would have lived back in the days. I love the Lord and He is a big part of my life. I am definitely not demonic or possed! Also....why would they not allow people to get married if they had epilepsy!!!??? Sad!!!

Niggaupnorth= I have epilespy and just let you know you can NOT get epilepsy from having unprotected sex and nor will your children. Epilepsy is caused due electrical imbalances within the brain and therefore not contagious. As for your girlfriend try and give her some support. Having epilespy is not fun. It can also cause some feelings of thinking that you're differnt from everyone else and at times people with epilepsy feel as if they are a burden. My advice do not bring that up with gf.

taylor, I'm on Keppra and can't seem to GAIN weight even after overeating. Maybe Keppra is the answer for your weight problem and seizure control.

I hate epilepsy. it ruined my life. I was enlisted in the Marine Corps. now I cant do the ONE career path I've wanted to do since I was a kid. seizures and epilepsy really fucked my life up. next stop suicide.

yes that is true. If we were in Midevial times we would of been burned that suck man is so stupid.I have had Epilepsy for 37 Years now and yes it sucks. But one day we will be free from pain

I know, me 2. Tho I probably would have died from the lymphoma first... god, that's depressing! At least we have medications that can treat this now. There isn't as much stigma about epilepsy anymore
