  • why are the numbers here???? wat do the numbers represent???

  • @lovegod4 Check out some of my earlier videos, where I explain the number system... you can also do a search for Nashville Number System.

  • @lovegod4 It's called diatonic harmony. It's kinda like the whole solfege thing. Do-Re-Mi-Fa-Sol-La-Ti-Do. The first note in a major key represents the 1. The 6 represents the 6th note in the major scale. 2 is the second and 5 is the fifth. If you want to get complicated and jazzy, you could use roman numerals to get better idea what the harmony going on is. I Maj7-vi Min7-ii Min7-V7-I Maj7. This isn't JUST gospel. It's a common chord progression used in rhythm changes.

  • Thanks!

  • I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS 5/5

  • hay, thanks a bunch for posting this video (and all of your others)

I've played bass for just over 6 years now and have decided to span out over more genres of music than before (mainly rock/metal) and even something as basic as learning common gospel chord progressions has helped me.

    thanks again!

  • So glad to hear the videos help.
