  • Where do you think we are going?

Where do you think this will lead?

  • Great song. Does anyone know the guitar chords and picking the schema?

  • Peace in the air, love everywhere. To us, such a place belongs.

  • my name is ole0.o....

  • There was another arrangement, in early 1990s including a Flute!

Can anybody find it? Who was that? Blew my mind back in those days.

  • @ToddBoyle

That was from the 1991 album Dance & Celebrate from Bourne & MacLeod. Bill sang and played strings while Alan MacLeod played flute and bagpipes. Ole Buffalo still sends shivers... In 1992, they released Moonlight Dancer.

  • What idiot disliked this?

  • Thanks to my aged Canadian aunt for my " discovery " of Bil Bourne, slainthe from the far north of Scotand !

  • Saw him last night in Nelson BC, come back anytime Bill

  • O M G. Thank you Bill Bourne.

  • beautiful. true. his voice does circles around my heart.

  • Hey Bill! You should go back to the Vat for just one more.

Cass isn't quite suck a prick, and you still never got to try the moose ribs!

Naiomi was a friend of mine, and I still remember things. :)

Long live and joy, my friend, that and more joy. :D

  • we Canadians do too say eh!

    Americans say huh!

    EH!

  • wow this guy is good

  • he has a wonderfull voice

  • hmmm yeah this fine,,,,lovely song...oh yeah....loven this.....ENJOY

  • I am Canadian and we all say "eh" lol

the only stereotype for how we talk is "aboot"

  • Yeah I've never understood that whole "aboot" thing...I don't live in Canada now, but I was born there and lived most of my life there, and I never heard anybody say "aboot".

  • @travpoet

It is because Americans say "uh-bowt" as in the bow of a boat.. Canadians say the "bout" portion with less of an "A" sound at the beginning. Crazy accents!

  • @travpoet It's an Eastern Canada thing, I've heard people from Ontario say "aboot".

  • @travpoet Phonetically, it's not a-boot. It's actually closer to a-boat. The "ou" is a dipyhomng and we start it with a more rounded "a" sound - closer to the "a" in "father" than Americans who start it with an "a" sound closer to the "a" in "bat". It's subtle to get it right, but it definitely does exist.

  • @Kaalec That should read "dipthong". Can't seem to type today.

  • i do beleive this fella is from the tri continentals. ? madagascar slim from them is the man yo

  • Nope...he is Canadian..eh? He was born in Red Deer, Alberta, Canada and currently resides in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

  • im canadian. i dont know anyone who actually sais "eh" so cut that out. and i wasnt talking about bill. Madagascar Slim from his band - the tri continentals- is an AMAZING guitarist. i saw it live and i peed myself. almost

  • I am Canadian too...and it was said tongue-in-cheek, jokingly. Sorry it was misunderstood.

BTW: I have indeed heard many Canadians that use "eh' when they talk...just listen...it is there.

  • @zedzknight I don't know what part of Canada you live in. I grew up in Nova Scotia, travelled to every province and have lived in four. I have heard "eh" used in all of them. Linguists have documented it as well as our unique pronouncation of out, about, house, mouse etc.

    A big hug to you...

  • Bill is probably one of the most inspireing people I have ever met. This is one of my favorites

  • Beautiful. I remember when Bill Bourne and Alan MacLeod played the Winnipeg Folk Festival. Their cd is still a favourite and this song is on it.

  • If anyone want to play his style I can tell you his tuning it's an old blues slide tuning.

    1.D 2.A 3.F 4.D 5.A 6.D it's called DADFAD tuning. It gives a very dark tone.
