  • I was a Baltimore transplant for 10 years and I've been gone as long.

You can't deny the amount of mind-blowing history that went on there-

love it or hate it, folks were proud and lucky to be born in such a 'real' American city.

  • Did he say "Westboro Baptist Church" haha...

  • Great video.... Thanks !!!!!

  • 3:01 - "White people go like this...ON the beat...WE never beat that way... 1..*clap*....2....*clap*.!" So true.... However, I beat like Eubie. ;-D

  • Another Baltimore original.....makes me so proud!

  • Great video! What year is this from? Looks like mid-70s. Baltimore Buzz is good, it is interesting to hear him play this later in life.

Notice how they use part of Luckey Roberts' 1923 piano roll "Mo'lasses" from 1:22 to 2:01 in the video.

I really love how Eubie illustrates how they played the spirituals in the church way back when. AWESOME!

  • The recording was made in the late 1970's when my husband bought a Sony Betamax machine the year they came out and recorded jazz and ragtime programs that interested him off Tv.
