3. Obama has been fighting for American workers since soon after he graduated. He was community organizer that fought for worker's rights.
Obama's economic plan is intrinsically tied into his plan to rid us of foreign oil. He would put the government's focus into alternative energy, creating thousands if not millions of jobs in solar, wind, and hydroelectric. He would work to renegotiate for fair trade, not just free trade.
Now, what is McCain's plan? To drill, drill, drill? A gas tax holiday that you won't find a single economist supporting? More Bush tax cuts for the wealthy? Give me a break.
You constantly tout McCain's judgment on the surge. Then let me ask you a question; if the surge has worked, then why can't we get out of Iraq? If it was a success, then why is the situation still so "shaky"?

As for the effectiveness of the surge, its goal was not the immediate withdrawal from Iraq of US troops. It was for the lowering of hostilities, which it accomplished. It has allowed Iraq to begin to stabilize, which in turn will allow us to pull out of Iraq.
As you yourself say, it is to facilitate political reconciliation- which, as we both know, has not happened. Which means that the major objective of the surge was not accomplished.
Of course, none of this matters considering Obama was against the war from the beginning, which would've prevented us from needlessly engaging in a pointless campaign that has wasted billions of dollars and thousands of lives, so really, the judgment argument can't be made.
It took my six posts to outline Obama's comprehensive plan for the economy. In that regard, it doesn't seem like you can produce McCain's plan, likely because McCain believes our economic troubles "psychological".

I always laugh at the idea of government jobs truly helping the economy. It seems to me that when it comes government jobs, the employees are paying themselves. You are taking in order to give to people, rather than creating the way private businesses do. I admit that scientists discovering alternative fuels could stimulate the economy, but such things can be (and are) funded by the private sector.

Privatizing social security is just a trick that the administration will use. For example they might say if you don't support a war with another country or importing foreign workers on our terms your retirement account will be hurt, you don't want to live in the streets or eat out of a garbage can etc, when your old. They are already doing that with large public retirement funds already telling people well if you support such and such legislation your retirement accounts will suffer.

Obama's economic plan is intrinsically tied into his plan to rid us of foreign oil. He would put the government's focus into alternative energy, creating thousands if not millions of jobs in solar, wind, and hydroelectric. He would work to renegotiate for fair trade, not just free trade.
Now, what is McCain's plan? To drill, drill, drill? A gas tax holiday that you won't find a single economist supporting? More Bush tax cuts for the wealthy? Give me a break.

It would seem more appropriate to address the point IPOMonster was making. Namely, that Obama started out vehemently opposing and denouncing the surge only to later assert that it was successful. As for the effectiveness of the surge, its goal was not the immediate withdrawal from Iraq of US troops. It was for the lowering of hostilities, which it accomplished. It has allowed Iraq to begin to stabilize, which in turn will allow us to pull out of Iraq.

Research into alternative fuels would create jobs for scientists, then the production of those fuels would create factories, and the implementation of those fuels would hire more workers down the line. It's the creation of a whole new market sector that could generate millions of jobs.

I always laugh at the idea of government jobs truly helping the economy. It seems to me that when it comes government jobs, the employees are paying themselves. You are taking in order to give to people, rather than creating the way private businesses do. I admit that scientists discovering alternative fuels could stimulate the economy, but such things can be (and are) funded by the private sector.

Privatizing social security is just a trick that the administration will use. For example they might say if you don't support a war with another country or importing foreign workers on our terms your retirement account will be hurt, you don't want to live in the streets or eat out of a garbage can etc, when your old. They are already doing that with large public retirement funds already telling people well if you support such and such legislation your retirement accounts will suffer.
