  • Altid skønt at se den her film igen. Det var godt nok lang tid siden! Tak for uploadet! :).

  • i liked the soundtrack, the look, screenplay... pretty much everything. to some people who didn't know there's a series of comics a guy did. this film is based on 1 of those. there is 15 volumes total the last 1 was released in 2009. read them if you wanna find out what happend next. i am not sure but i think this is based on the first volume.

  • skål

  • No one is commenting on the beautiful beautiful music?!? Really??

  • @Askebon I find it kinda mediocre tbh :/

  • @unurautare2 This is a CARTOON you fucking genious.

  • @unurautare2 Its interesting that you watched the movie even though it supposedly was lame -____- It is about mythology and Valhalla for crying out loud! That red haired guy is Thor, the god of thunder. When he gets pissed he rides around swinging his hammer, making thunder. The black haired skinny guy is Loke. Valhallas version of Judas. The screepy guy who played chess with the head in the great hall was Odin. Valhallas version of Zeus. The king of the gods in Valhalla.

  • Is there an English translation of the comics this is based on?

  • I agree that the ending is a bit of a disappointment, but the film was a nice departure from Disney...

  • Epic child stuff... we need more of these xD

  • This was an awesome blast from the past. Thank you for uploading all of these :)

  • Man, this is so fantastic! Even if I've never seen it before, it reminded me a lot of my childhood! The story is the right mix of cuteness and epic mythology and gods, lawl. And the animation and drawing are perfect! This surely is one of my favorite toons ever!

  • what a strange cartoon..

  • Danish Cartoons always do it for me :)

  • This movie was based on a viking folktale, if you liked it you should try reading more of them. They are good.

  • This nice ending music brings me back so many good memories

  • Outpaces Disney by far if you ask me and can't go wrong with norse myths. :)

    .

  • .... Dudes, I loved this! Better than any Disney movie, really.

I hold myth as very important, a cultural thing not to be viewed as a fairy tale in my opinion. Just saying.

    Thor rulez!

  • I worked on the film for 3 years, believe me its Danish

  • thank you so much friend for the uploading ...!

  • That was SUCH a cute movie. Thank you for posting! <3

  • Dosen't the little girl tame the Fenris Wolf in one of the later comics?

  • She did, in the first book.

  • This was a nice movie. I don't know what language it was spoken in, but it sounded awesome to listen too, as well as complete gibberish to me. Lol. I hope the comic has been translated into English so I can read it!

  • @WindSpirit22 Danish, I think. or norwegian.

  • @WindSpirit22 It was for sure Danish.

  • Good movie. I'll try to find the comic, though ;u;

  • I have a request that we would all benefit from.

There is a short film about Quark. Please, find some way to upload this, please. Someone.

  • Eh, what a girl can do to a giant with a face like that!

    Nice one!

  • @NotOrdinaryInGames I think you can imagine what happend than

    :) It depends on you:)

  • That was awesome. Thanks for uploading this.

  • The ending is kind of disappointing. What happened to the kids next? Nothing? THey stayed in the Land of The Gods 4ever? Why? Why, movie, why?

  • @NotOrdinaryInGames

The movie is based on a comic consisting of 15 volumes where in the last volume the kids return home to midgard after experiencing Ragnarok.

What happens to Quark however remains unknown.

The film is based on partly the first, fourth and fifth volumes of the comic.

I hope this doesn't destroy your experience of the movie though :)

  • @Mjoedmand

it's nice to see that even in Norse mythology, the kids always survive. : )

    Skál

  • @Mjoedmand god i almost read that you prick! how about a spoiler warning???

  • @NotOrdinaryInGames Read the myths.

  • @NotOrdinaryInGames Oh yeah, they stayed for a while. The comic "Valhalla" has more stories about the gods, the jotun and those children. ;)

  • @NotOrdinaryInGames well its only an excerpt out of a really long comic book series

  • @NotOrdinaryInGames

What happened is the movie was a flop and they couldn't make a sequel. If you're so interested, the movies is based on a bunch of Danish comic books. You should be able to find a copy floating around the web.

  • I don't think it was a flop within Denmark? But I would really have liked to see a sequel to this, where we could see the other gods and goddesses, which we meet in the comics, like Frej, Freja, Frigg, Balder, Brage and Idun...

  • @Furienna

you're right - it wasn't a flop in Denmark (no surprise), but it flopped everywhere else (not that surprising either) and that was enough bankrupt the studio. would have been nice to see a sequel with more stories. if you haven't read the comics or know the culture, then parts of the movie were kinda confusing.

  • Yes, even here in Sweden, we don't hear much about this movie. And that's despite us being Denmark's neighbors and brethren, and these myths being being a part of our history as well. But the comic books are rather popular (though not as much as French-Belgian comics like "Tintin" and "Asterix") and can be borrowed from most libraries.

  • Tjalve and Röskva are real Norse mythology characters, and yes, they stayed with the gods. I always find it sad, that they had to leave their parents, but they still had each other and seemed happy enough.

  • @NotOrdinaryInGames Read the comics, you'll see :) I liked the movie, but the comics are way better!

  • @NotOrdinaryInGames Because the movie sadly ended up being a box office bomb, costing 40 million kroner to make, the most expensive film Denmark ever made to this day. If the movie had ended up being a box office success, I have no doubt they would have made film adaptations of more volumes of the comic book series. Who knows, maybe they will try and make another film of this series in the future. Time will only tell. Here's hoping at least.

  • @NotOrdinaryInGames Read the comicbooks.

  • @Ursusdk Poor adaptation is poor.

I am not going to defend "The Golden Compass" (film) by saying "read the books". Because the latter is awesome, but the former still sucks.

  • @NotOrdinaryInGames so much questions about a cartoon.....it's funny, about norse myth and i love it ^^ just join it

  • @NotOrdinaryInGames

The kids stayed for the time being yes. This cartoon is in fact a very long Comic and this particular movie is just one of the stories from it, theres ALOT more to the story both before and after, it didnt end at this at all.

  • @NotOrdinaryInGames This is actually based on the Gylfaginning, it's a part from the Prose Edda.. More or less all charcters and events are straight up from there, including Thor's servants Þjálfi and Röskva.

I was amazed when I found out how accurate they made it :)

  • @Practice9Perfection Still, the ending is... just... nonexistent.

  • @NotOrdinaryInGames There is more if you look into the original legends of Thor and Loki and such. This just covered this story, there are many more.

  • @NotOrdinaryInGames there were books that continued the story, sort of comic books, not sure if they were translated into english
