  • Yep agree with the other commentors this isn't a book signing the man probably had other engagements to get to, hmmmm...maybe a book signing?

  • So, what? Why even upload this video? Grow up!!!

  • OWW stephen the whole maine mocks you you're the big jim's shame and carry white herself gathered.....kidding alright .....

  • True fans don't need to pester these people for autographs.

  • King doesn't owe his fans anything. He doesn't force us to buy his books either. Let him be.

  • Give fame to actors and actress, and afterward they'll shit on you, diss you, and yet take your fucking money. The same with fucking musicians. Actors and musicians eventually think that they have become mini "gods." That is why you never buy their fucking music, you don't pay for it, and you don't go to the movies or buy or rent fucking movies or tv shows. Fuck those fucking actors, musicians maggots motherfuckers.

  • @Rex11m although i dont think stephen king is anything like that as you wrote i agree with you for other artists actors who think they are superior to other people and act like that when they go to premieres or events.and yes some of them think they are gods.but for me apart from their talent they are not gods but heatless pricks lol

  • I wouldn't take that personally. Mr. King was probably on a tight schedule and didn't want to stop because he knew it would only attract more people and everybody would want his autograph. I've been a SK fan since 1975 when I found a brand new paperback of Carrie in a garbage can. Read everything he's written some of them several times. I've read all 7 DT novels in succession three times. You MUST keep reading it because the story is a circle..(wink wink to DT fans...)

  • @ldchappell1 Good point Idchappell1. I made my comment purely on the video alone but there are other factors as you say. The poor bloke would probably never get anything else done if he stopped for every single autograph hunter so maybe I was a bit harsh! He's a top story teller and will always be one of my favourites. Love DT btw :-)

  • well done Uncle Steve!

  • He is practically blind. Maybe he doesn't want to deal with pen and paper in public.

  • Prefer James Herbert as a writer.

  • I'm a massive Stephen King fan although I think his middle-books (Desperation, Insomnia, Rose Madder) saw his form dip a little, but his last few have been top drawer!

Scariest book I have ever read is Thirteen Volume One.

  • King, the good old boy.....just an asshole really

  • leave the man alone.... he dont want to sign it then he dont he can do what ever he wants its his life :P love you stephen king you my favorite author

  • At least he wasn't being a dick about it like Ringo...

  • Oh how dare him. He's written millions of words for us and they're whining because he wouldn't write two? Waaahhhhhhhh!

  • So what, I wouldn't sign pestering peoples autographs either!! That's rude!

  • Yeah even if you send him a really nice letter, he won't give you an autograph. That's just how he rolls. Respect.

  • King is probably the most accessible popular author in 100 years. Salinger and Vonnegut never did the Today show or give hundreds of interviews...

These kinds of people (oh PLEASE mistuh King PLEASE) they need to go to a book signing or university talk if they want a damn autograph so bad.

  • The man snubbed you on the streets, not at a book signing.

  • I love King's work, but I've never desired to get his autograph. His books, and yes, even the film adaptations are enough for me...

  • @beckynahmad In some interviews, he says he doesn't like signing autographs for various reasons, but one of the biggest (aside from idolatry as the top comment says) is that he feels bad he can't give EVERYONE an autograph. And once he starts, crowds build and sooner or later he has to stop

  • @beckynahmad He doesn't owe you a thing. He writes books, people like them, they buy them. That's it. Just because he writes so well that millions love his work does not mean that he owes you, me or anyone else a single thing. And I think he is one of the famous who actually DOES have humility and respect for those who loves his work. It's unbelievable to me that anyone would have the audacity to act like they are owed because they bought a book.

  • @beckynahmad Dear Idiot: This is what you said, "Much as I love him, he needs to remember it is his readers who have made him so successful and a little humility and respect for those who read and love his work would not go amiss."

I understand English perfectly well. You have a sense of entitlement that he "needs to remember" his readers. And that he needs to have "a little humility and respect." Again, he owes you NOTHING! Stupid bitch.

  • I hate him and will never buy any of his books again. He is a douche bag who doesn't care about the fans who put him where he is.

  • @desirewalkson99 I think considering the people filming this will only go on to sell his signature for THEIR profit, (which in case you've not noticed, has become easy money for leeches like this), then he has EVERY right to choose when he stops and who he signs for.

You want his autograph? Go thru the proper channels - find a book signing, go thru his agent or send him your copy.

  • @desirewalkson99 They're not fans. The fans are the ones who go to his readings/signings. These people are paparazzi.

  • aww poor mr. King :(

  • @StephenKingFan100 haha yes i think he wrote that book on some sort of inspiration like about his view on fans and celebrities lol.

  • @AliceElphabaWonka yah i think so! It's also pretty funny because that was the first king book i read!

  • @StephenKingFan100 oh really haha. Ya i am reading "The Girl who Loved Tom Gordon" right now. :)

  • @AliceElphabaWonka awesome book!

  • @AliceElphabaWonka That's one of my favorite books by him, as in like top 5

  • I would probably feel dissapointed if I asked him to sign me an autograph and he wouldn't but come on people, you Americans live in a 250 mln country and I'm not surprised that very popular people there sometimes refuse to do it, everybody has a bad day from time to time and everybody would be tired of all-the-time interest.

  • @Lycheeflavour Please, he was hit by a van, he has health problems. And perhaps, he was not in the mood for signing something. Or he had something to do. Something important.

  • @PinoPinoles Isn't this e x a c t l y what I wrote?

  • @Lycheeflavour Believe me, when that guy is just standing there for ninety minutes by himself, staking out the stage exit, he's a papporazzi. I'm pretty sure he probably never even read one of his books.

  • @PerversionsOfNature I'm pretty sure that you people read only the first sentence of my post. Please, read with understanding because I don't want to waste my time on explaining you that I AGREE WITH YOU!!!

  • @Lycheeflavour Okay, I wasn't arguing with you. I was taking your side. Just saying, considering the greedy incentive behind that autograph, King had every reason to wave him off.

  • I don't see the point in posting this video.

  • @burpo To show everybody what celebs tend to be assholes.

  • he's old already give me a break

  • @xFANPiREbabex

You are a "twilight" fan, are you?

    :)

Actually you are right. If you like some author, just read his works and be happy. But SKing only says his opinion and you are free to do the same.

  • Mr.King is and has been for years my favorite author, I love all his books and am a huge dark tower fan. As he said in one of his forwards, after some nut broke into his house and scared the bejesus out of his poor wife, 'let my books be my way of knowing you', works for me. Thanks for all the many hours of reading nirvana over the years, Big Steve!

  • Funny, because he wrote a book about just that.

  • @xFANPiREbabex stephen king is going stronger than ever, for being almost seventy years old and writing for over sisxty years, maybe he scares himself too much and has trouble sleeping, who knows....

  • @daspoon456 He's 63. If he was writing for over siSxty years he'd have to have started at birth.

  • @EerieTales ...i thought he was older, sorry,

  • @daspoon456 No problem. Sorry if I was a bit rude. I was a little upset at this video.

  • @daspoon456 No problem. Sorry if I was a bit rude. I was a little upset at this video.

  • @EerieTales yo bro its all good.

  • @EerieTales yo bro its all good. dont worry

  • @xFANPiREbabex typical twilight fan

  • @mats1e Typical twilight hater :)

  • @xFANPiREbabex lets accept each other =)

  • For what it's worth, he never signs autographs. He believes it's idolatry.

  • @ColdRoses Interesting. He doesn''t mind doing it when there's money involved. What an asshole the man is.

  • @jemabeans Fair. But he's also contractually obliged to do that.

  • @jemabeans Perhaps someone (jemabeans) has to think before speaking. Perhaps if you were him, with health problems and without money involved (because, when there is money, everybody would do it) you were not speaking. And that goes to everyone.

  • @jemabeans He does very few signings. For his new book he's only doing one, and that was a last-minute decision. Those always include a q&a and occasionally a reading. Also, like eighty percent of those you'll find waiting in line are fans, more than anything.

So, there's a big difference between that jackass on the sidewalk who, 20 minutes later, will take his circa-1983 signed headshot downtown and cash it in, or just sell it on ebay.

  • @ColdRoses "For what it's worth" is a song by one the best bands in the world: Placebo.
